Just wondering if anyone has had this same experience. My plan gives me 250 anytime minutes, so I have to be careful sometimes that I do not go over. I use the *646# feature to check minutes. However, about a month back, when my cycle was ending, I knew I was very close. I did not go over that month, but my billing cycle closed on Friday and Saturday morning when I checked, it showed I had used zero minutes. However, about an hour or so later I checked again, and it said I had used 20 minutes or so. That was impossible since Saturday fallas within nights and weekends. On other occasions as well, I have seen calls posted in the incorrect month. My July 9th bill showed calls from June 7, 8, 9, which should have been on the prior month. While I understand some of those calls were made in more rural areas, I am now in Philadelphia. Shouldn't calls made ON the Cingular network be posted right away? I just took a look at this month's bill, and the same thing happened. This time, all calls were placed in either Philadelphia or Boston, once again on the Cingular network (or at least my phone said so!) and I see calls listed which are technically in last month's period. I called CIngular earlier and asked, and the rep told me that all the different metropolitan areas are separate, and so the reporting may be delayed by a few days. Since my phone is registered in the Buffalo area and I am in Philadelphia, there may be a delay. I find this irritating as it makes it difficult to keep track of my minutes. This month's bill so far shows usage of over 2000 minutes, which is incorrect since I was out of town for two weeks and did not use the phone at all. I have not had time to read through the entire detailed bill online yet. I will have to check it out soon. About two years ago I spent the summer in Boston and when I got my next bill, calls from the wrong months got rolled onto the next month and they tried to bill me over 500 dollars! I did get it straightened out, but it took many phone calls. Just wondering if this is an issue for anyone else? Does this happen with all carriers? Is it normal for a person on a national plan using their minutes on their own carrier's network to find delayed billing? And bobolito, if you think this belongs in a more general forum, by all means feel free to move it!
Don't trust that minute tracking feature. It is not reliable. Sometimes it doesn't update until like 2 days. If you see something weird, wait a day or two to see if it goes back to normal. FAIK, T-Mobile has the best and most accurate minute tracking followed by Verizon.
Well, that is certainly good to know, bobolito. Thanks. The companies would lead you to believe that the text message will give you an accurate account of your minutes used. It is not usually an issue for me, but does come up occasionally. In fact, today is the first day of my new cycle, but when I did the *MIN# thing this afternoon, it shows me using almost 90 anytime minyutes and over 2000 NW, which is clearly wrong. But is it normal for calls made on one's own network to show up a few days late? That really seems unfair, though I suppose it could potentially work in one's favor if you go over by mistake one month and the minutes get pushed off a day or two and show up the next month.
