Anyone Seen this Cell Tower? (My Name is Earl)

Ha ha. I've seen a few different cell towers in the background on TV shows and news highlights. There was one monopole shown on Cops filmed in Riverside County, CA that I actually recognized and knew the exact location of.

 

Yeah, I would assume that this is in cali, as they do most of their taping there.

 

My Name is Jonathan:browani: , and I suspect the site is in the San Fernando Valley. It'll be interesting to see where this monopine is located.

I don't know how I missed this post but it's located in the G & A Auto Dismantlers scrap yard located at the NE corner of Balboa and Saticoy in Van Nuys.

I want to say Cingular (Or now TMobile) off the top of my head.

 

Wait a minute, i'm not sure if we are correct about this. This is a "birds eye view" picture of that area, and there is no building back there that looks anything like our picture:



But in this image, you can clearly see a mono-pine:



and wait, it looks like in this picture, the back drop of those buildings is 100% fake around an existing structure! What's going on here..

That's the same question a lot of area residents were asking when it was being built. It is a studio, but the drastic changes between the front panels make me wonder about it

 

That was an easy one, the back of the large strange looking building.

Is this where they do more then 1 TV show or was it a 1 time shot?
Or is the Studio building it for future use?

 

It's amazing to me that a camouflaged cell tower was shown in TV for just an instant and someone here screen-capped it and then someone else knew the exact location of the tower.

No. I can only laugh at these 'camo' towers.... a local town demanded a camo tower, and they got a redwood looking thing. Definitely not a native tree for NH, whatever it is supposed to be!! Somebody had a good laugh with that decision!!

 

Oh it was really a good picture. Cell tower is back of the pine tree.

 

that tower or tree doesn't look very straight or is it me? i would think if a carrier would have put it up straight ?

 

I'm sure it is upright, and it is just the camera angle. Did anyone happen to see the cell site in I am Legend?

There is one scene where they are looking at the ruins of NYC and the entire shot of a rooftop cell site for about 3 or 4 seconds. Maybe I already have a picture of it! lol

 

There's actually a tower just like this where I live. It looks the same and everything except for that buildings around it. They don't look familure to me but I could be wrong.

 

Well I watched I Am Legend again last night, and got a screen grab of the site. It looks to be maybe along the West Side Highway.

 

It is funny how many people will pass up a cell tower without noticing it. I used to, but now I pay attention to that stuff!

 

Everytime I look at this picture I'd swear I'm looking at a model, not a real life picture.

One clue, it's within one mile of the above tower.

 

Clue #2! I posted a picture of this tower a few years ago.

 

I looked up the area on American Tower and I think I may have found the location. 8236 Louise Ave, Van Nuys California.
