does anyone know if nextel has new rate plans for august?? i want my old plan back!! (10000 something?? it was called) i had 1000 anytime minutes for $55.00 5000 N+W minutes and long distance included and 4000 direct connect minutes. their plans are terrible now!!! $60.00 for 400 anytime minutes and you have to pay $10-15 extra to get free N+W minutes. that is $75.00 for 400 anytime minutes
I think they are rolling out some new things 8/4 not 8/1. Supposedly there will also be a way to check your minutes through MyNextel.com instead of having to call 611. But still no way to check from the phone.
I currently am interested in changing my rate plan too since I am going to have a VZW phone also. I just would like to lower to a cheaper rate plan, but I can only change to the National Shared plan which is like 200 min, Unlimitied Direct Connect, voicemail, and caller id for $49. Anybody know of a way I can change my plan without signing a contract extention. Cause the way it looks I can only change to that one plan without a contract extention.
I have not checked the site today to see if they have anything new (there is now a way to check your usage online that is pretty sweet and long overdue though). I did hear someone say in another forum on another site that they probably would not be doing anything until the end of Sept when the current ones are slated to end. Sorry for that bad news if it truly is the case.
I think the plan you are talking about was the Breakthrough 10,000. That was one of their best plans and if I remember correctly it matches what you are describing. However since that ended in like February I believe. All Nextel has that is decent is the free incoming stuff. They're plans have fallin' down very much over the last few months. Best plan I ever saw for Nextel was in Dec. 2002 for $39.99 you got 600 anytime minutes, unlimited nights and weekends, voicemail/caller ID, and unlimited direct connect. Nextel likes to change plans around about every other month from what I've seen. And they usually release a new one or two at the beginning of every month. In my case though I cannot change to any decent rate plan (I'm on the 59.99 Free Incoming). I can't change unless I sign an extention on the contract and that's gonna be a no go. I am switching soon.
