Anyone out there know how to change the slot cycle index on the Nokia 3585? Or any Nokia for that matter? I've asked Nokia, but they won't say. I'd like to set mine to 2 to increase my stand-by battery life.
Re: Anyone know how to change the slot cycle index on the Nokia 3585? Or any Nokia f Well even though this is a rather old post, I am going to add this tidbit for those out there. This seems to apply to most all Nokia CDMA model phones. *#75681# (SLOT1) Entering in this sets Slot Cycle Index to 1 *#75682# (SLOT2) Entering in this sets Slot Cycle Index to 2 These are the only two options, 0 & 3 do not work etc. Some people miscellaneous Nokia code lists include these as "some sort of soft reset". NO NO NO Wrong! My pesonal experience with metroPCS (whose slot index default is 2) is a nearly 50% increase in audio quality in and out plus substantial enhanced increases in signal stanility. Only downside was a loss of between 5% and 7% of my battery life. That was one hell of a trade off that I found very worhwhile. Metro has their networks set to the higher index so they can pack in the bandwidth as they are bordering on overselling thir networks in some areas. I recommend STRONGLY a setting of 1 for the slot cycle index setting for those of you out there who are users of metroPCS (or Cricket - now bought by metroPCS I believe) Hope this info is helpful to somebody out there!
