Well even though this is a rather old post, I am going to add this tidbit for those out there. This seems to apply to most all Nokia CDMA model phones.

*#75681# (SLOT1) Entering in this sets Slot Cycle Index to 1
*#75682# (SLOT2) Entering in this sets Slot Cycle Index to 2

These are the only two options, 0 & 3 do not work etc. Some people miscellaneous Nokia code lists include these as "some sort of soft reset".

My pesonal experience with metroPCS (whose slot index default is 2) is a nearly 50% increase in audio quality in and out plus substantial enhanced increases in signal stanility. Only downside was a loss of between 5% and 7% of my battery life. That was one hell of a trade off that I found very worhwhile. Metro has their networks set to the higher index so they can pack in the bandwidth as they are bordering on overselling thir networks in some areas. I recommend STRONGLY a setting of 1 for the slot cycle index setting for those of you out there who are users of metroPCS (or Cricket - now bought by metroPCS I believe)
