let me start by saying you have cingulars GSM system. Bottom line its not going to work inside. You say you know where the tower is but how far is it ? The 1900 mhz signal cant penetrate walls very well. as far as you office buiolding in manhatten there may be a tower close by or a repeater on you building that allows the signal to get in without problems. the repeater my also be on an ajacent building.

I have recently moved to an area without Cingular coverage. When I first signed the contract, there was a chance I would be moving within 2 yrs and specifically asked if I could get out of the contract if I moved to an area without coverage and I was told there was "no problem" and would not be charged a cancellation fee if this happened. Well, I just called customer service and was told I could under no circumstances cancel my contract with out paying $150 fee. She suggested I transfer the phone to someone else. When I told her what was originally told to me she got very rude. When I asked to talk to a supervisor, I got put on hold and I ended up hanging up because it was taking so long for anyone to get back to me. Now what do I do?? Is there some other number I can call and talk to someone who will work with me??[IMG]

some providers let you out of your contract if you move to an area where they do not have coverage. i know t-mobile does, i got out of mine 6 months early....

you could tell them you moved.....
