    Hello all
I am in the market for a new phone

I have been with sprint for several years and I am out of contract now

I am definitely not a power user at the moment but I am interested in trying out all the bells and whistle that are offered these days

I have been looking at the LG FUSIC as a potential candidate for a replacement
it seems to be getting favorable reviews but not as much attention as the A900

wondering if anyone could other their opinion

I'll probably being using it as a phone first and fore most
and then maybe as a web portal and or modem for my laptop

    also
the idea of using it for simple mapping tasks is very appealing
as is the idea of a handy camera with removable memory

i know it won't work out of the country
but does sprint offer any phones that will?

    thanks in advance

What do you mean by it doesn't work out of the country? It will work in the Americas and parts of Asia.

As for the Fusic, I would get it before the A900. I am not a Samsung fan though.

Sprint did offer a Samsung (A790?) that was CDMA/GSM for use internationally, but now I think it is only available on ebay or from other 3rd party dealers.

Most everything I have ever read (which admittedly is not that much) said gms was they way to go outside of the US

I am happy to hear otherwise
but to clarify where is GMS mostly used to the exclusion of CDMA?
    thanks for the tips

GSM is used throughout Europe and Africa. You will not find any CDMA there, with the possible exception of extreme Eastern Europe, but I think those CDMA networks are no longer operational. Everywhere else (NA, SA, Asia, Australia) has GSM and may or may not have CDMA

CDMA as a technology is far superior to GSM. Unfortunately most of the world uses GSM. Remember Beta and VHS tapes for VCRs? Beta was much better but VHS became the market leader.

LG is a great phone that has no issues with telenav. Butt ugly phone maybe but who cares? It's a solid performer. See the CNET review. It's better than my a920.
