I was looking at the Samsung SGH-A707 today as a replacement for my SE T637. Seems nice overall but what do I know? Is anybody here using it?

Phone Scoop has 3 pages of user reviews. I am trialling the A707 and so far I like most everything about it, with the exception of the front screen going completely dark when closed (there could at least be a darkened clock displayed). Before I got Cingular's sandwich case I hated having to use both hands to open it but now I can flip it open with my thumb. Battery life is exceptional (way better than the SE T637). I'm thinking about getting a SanDisk 512 mb memory card and a few reviewers at Phone Scoop complained that the slot is not spring loaded. Don't know if I'll do anything Bluetooth-related with it yet. The address book is quite different from the T637's where I had one name with 2 or more options for which number (home, cell, etc.) to call but I can edit that. I'll post more as I continue to experiment with it.
It sounds like a good phone, when you say the outer screen goes completly dark, when you hit any of the side keys does it light back up? My V635 goes dark after so many seconds, but it does have the clock which isn't easy to see, but at least you know the phone is on. This phone seems to be one that would get onto a list of possibly wanting if I ever migrated over or bought a new toy on Ebay.
If I push and hold either left side volume +/- keys for about 3 seconds (an eternity ) the screen activates.
