Any new Verizon phones worth waiting for, or should I go with LG VX6000?

Hi...I'm new to posting on this site, but have found the information here very helpful in the past. I was hoping I'd be able to get a few opinions on Verizon's phone selections, as my time for renewal has arrived.

I currently have the Motorola v60c which I have really liked. I like the size and call clarity, but I've been disappointed with some features of the phone. I really would have liked to use the schedule/reminder and alarm-type features, but the bugs in the software (alarms going off at strange times and days off schedule) have made it pretty much useless. Now that I'm eligible for a new phone, I hope to choose one that is more reliable. I'm not looking for a full-fledged Palm phone or anything like that, just one that I can put a few reminders with alarms into (like "stop at cleaners on way home), and maybe have the ability to enter a short note or two. I'm not a mobile office worker so I'm not in need of keeping lists of meeting schedules and thousands of contact names and info, but I would like to keep track of my son's upcoming doctor appointment or grandparent-in-law's birthday.

My main question is if anyone knows if there is anything new on the near horizon (next month or two) for Verizon that I should wait for. I've scanned PhoneScoop and some other sites, but I can't really tell. I've looked at the LG VX6000 in the store and like its size and user interface. And from what I've read, it seems to have good call clarity. I realize that the VX6000 is digital only while my v60c has analog, but I'm not too worried about losing the analog ability. 99% of my time is in the greater Los Angeles area which has great digital coverage, and in the last two years I've only used analog maybe twice.

Verizon does not seem to have rolled out many new and outstanding phones lately, and I'm a little worried that I'll renew with a VX6000 and then in a month the "latest and greatest" will arrive that will blow the VX6000 away.

Thanks in advance for any input anyone can provide.

New phones are expected around late May or June. This may include the Moto v710 which has bluetooth capability, meg. pixel camera with flash, office quality speakerphone, and streaming video clip capable. Within the next week or so, we should have a better idea as to more exact date on its actual release. Some speculate the stores will have it by May 21st but they may not make it available to the public for another week. Other phones that may be available by mid summer to early fall include the Moto v810 and the Aud 9900 which both include enhanced features. Check out their features at phonescoop.com ......

The Motov710 looks really sweet...but i can't wait til July or late summer (whatever the date is..)...so i'll probably pick up either the LG600 or Audiovox8900 next week.

I had the 8900 but it wasn't one of my favorites. It was a solid phone, I just didn't like the speaker because it wasn't too loud and it sounded raspy. The voice volume too when put above level two sounded really scratchy. Reception wise, it worked really well in all areas I went to. Good luck.

Be careful... the VX6000 is a digital-only handset. I wouldn't give up analog just yet, at least here in the Pacific Northwest.

if you can live without analog, the 6000 is the way to go.

I was very skeptical about going digital only, but since doing it, I haven't regretted it. For an everyday phone, around town and such, a digital handset should be just fine for you. I've barely ever had usable analog in areas where there was no digital (at least using my digital phones).

I carry my T720 in the car on longish trips as a backup. I suppose at some point I should get an old analog phone to throw in the car.
