I stoped by one in Pittsburgh and no sign of them yet. No indication from BestBuy employees when they will receive them. Also, BestBuy is now requiring all cell phone returns be certified as faulty by a SprintPCS store/technician. This is per Sprint's request and applies to PSP protected handsets as well.
Well i hope this doesn't come to NJ anytime soon hehe. I recently returned 2 phones. The n400 and the 4900. I like my a500 thus far, could have a better signal, i like how its nice and small. I wanna check out the 5300, haven't seen it yet, and sprint stores near me don't have it. Might have to head into the city. (new york) Thanks for the reply.
okay quick poll: say you are not an employee of any of below stores, and the sanyo 5300 is sold for the same price for all below stores, who would you rather buy it from: 1.) The Sprint Store 2.) Sprintpcs.com 3.) Radio Shack 4.) Best Buy 5.) Circuit City your response will be much appreciated. Thank you.
i personally would choose best buy because of their service plans, and usually they have good deals on phones....well ones they want to get rid of but the service plan is good enough for me, it covers my phone's batteries for 4 years, paying for itself.........on top of its good warranty like coverage. circuit city and r.s have service plans too, but not as good as bb. If you dont want a service plan, all stores have practically the same prices so whatever.
That is a Best Buy management requirement. They are not wanting to do PSP exchanges anymore. Best Buy strives to not honor their PSP plans. If you want to have a no questions asked exchange go to Circuit City or Costco.
Circuit City, they have a no questions asked Service Plan if you are having problems with your phone. Best Buy doesn't stand behind anything they sell.
Actually I agree with ALbundy, cuz I bought a pocket pc from Circuit city, with a service plan. Two month later, I found out that it was under recall. I took the letter from the manufacturer's website as a proof to return it at the store. They didn't even glance at my letter. :-/ I even planned to raise hell for selling me recall product (so much for that) so i was happy about it. btw I work at radioshack. I can't really agree on the guy aboth of bb having best service plan. at radioshack you pay 59.99 for 6 batteries and coverage for 3 years. the plan is transferable to any new phone you get at radioshack. and us associates back it up because we can't afford to lose valuable customers as a small store. Also you get great customer service at radio shack because if you return something on the associate, it comes right out of that poor fellows' pay check. I think when it come down to it... if you need no help with anything about the Sanyo 5300, then go to circuit city. if you need service than radio shack, or sprint store (maybe). the sprint store employee are a little undertrain. I guess getting paid hourly gets them like that. I know that Sprint ppl are somewhat performance based pay, but if they were fully performance based, you would get much better service. and same for all other store... just my 2 cents. what do you think? still waiting for sanyo 5300 to come to radio shack. I really want to sell it to other people just because it's such a great concept of a phone.
Hey IdiOTeQnoLogY, are there new "batches" of these phones, because i want to get one but i've been reading about the horrible ear peice volume and i was wondering if there have been any other versions released with a possible fix yet, i know its still early but ya never know. Also how are they selling and what is the return to sale ratio? How does it compare to the samsung a500 overall and in display/battery life/reception and coolness factor (besides the digital camera of course) Thanks
Battery life is good. I played Java games all day today while waiting at the doctor's office (hate doctors and then I spoke for my GF for 45 minutes in the evening and alot thruout the day and its still on full. So thats with extended battery, which is included. The coolness factor is there too. I had a crowd around me at the doctor's office. It was kinda embarasing but cool at the same time. They were all "take my picture, take my picture" Why the hell would I want your ugly face in my camera, you know... hehe However, with all that said, I am returning this phone. The reason is: you can't hear crap from the earpiece. Its borderline rediculous. I can live with the crappy keypad lighting, and the quiet ringer (vibrate), but if I can't hear anything I might as well not talk at all, you know....
At first, I had the same problem with the phone. I couldn't hear crap. I tried pushing it up as hard as I could against my ear to hear it better. Then, it started going in and out- sometimes good, sometimes really quiet. I quickly discovered (as others have said in other threads) that it's the single hole by the speaker. If you have that hole at the right spot on your ear, the speaker's plenty loud. Anywhere else, though, and you can hardly hear a thing (especially if you're sealing that hole against the wrong part of your ear like I was). But for all the features and the camera, I'm willing to put up with having to hold the phone a certain way, especially now that I know what the problem is.
So for all of you people who have the Sanyo 5300 now, was it all worth the wait? I'm still waiting so I can get it at R-Shack... share me the joy plz
