Starting up cingular service soon, and would like some help picking a phone. What I really care about: loud and clear call quality, reception strength, and battery life, ( I want a phone, not an everything but a phone ). Otherwise, addtional toys are nice.
Plus, I want to get one for my mom, so simple and easy to use is a necessity for her.

    Phones I'm looking at:
    Samsung D807 ( looks cool )
    SE z520a
    Moto v557
    Nokia 6682

    Any suggestions, or other models?

    Thanks!

    Hello & welcome to WA.
I have or had the Nokia 6682, Moto V557, and the SE z520a. All of them have very good reception and call clarity. I am partial to the Nokia 6682 because it has the best call clarity and the loudest and clearest speaker phone. Also it uses a hot swappable Mini CD which is great for additional storage. It also has the best camera by far of the three.

The Sony has a very sensitive camera button on the outside and the keypad buttons can be a problem for someone with large hands.

Actually you can not go wrong with any of those three, so it is probably best to try on out for the 30 trial period and see how it suits you..

PS: The new Nokia 6126 scheduled for 7/5/06 promises to be a great phone, I have the unbranded version of it and really like it.

I think the Motorola V557 is an excellent choice, I have an earlier version, the V551 and found it to work very well, even in low signal areas. Its also available as a free phone so it is an incredible deal.
