Android 10 is now available for Pixel phones. I just updated my Pixel 3 to Android 10 it's 1337MB https://www.android.com/android-10/
I updated my Pixel XL last night (European time), it was 2 separate updates, but I did a side-load. Was it a single update for you guys?
I think it was one, but it may have been two. I got the message on my phone that there was an update. I clicked to get it and it started downloading and I set my phone down. I went back to my phone about 15 minutes later, and it said do you want to install, and I clicked yes. Then it said downloading and installing, so it might have been two. I have a English and French keyboard which includes a French dictionary, so maybe that's why it said downloading and installing on the final step???? One bug I noticed is when you go to close/clear applications you have open, they clear, but if you go back to double check, they will still be there for a while. So closing time takes a bit of time before they actually clear..
I was visiting clients yesterday around 2 PM I think I clicked download update, then I left my phone in the car on the charger while I visited the client. I have no idea what it actually did while I was in there. When I came back out it asked to restart.
My phone was refusing to show any updates (maybe because I'm in Russia at the moment), so I went to sideload the OTA and noticed that there were two of them. Since OTA is typically incremental I decided not to try the fate and installed them sequentially
Got an update today. Showing as QP1A.190711.020.C3 . It was pretty big. Not a lot of information about it. I did notice it has the September security patch. Not sure if I already had it. https://support.google.com/android/thread/15127406?hl=en
No, you probably had the QP1A.190711.020 (that's what was released originally, QP1A.190711.019 & QP1A.190711.020) and those two match the rest of the Pixel family. The QP1A.190711.020.C3 has only been released for 3 & 3a series.
I used the last two beta versions of 10 so I've been using it for a few months. I like changes such as more control over location access (Android now does it more like iOS) and the general ability to control permissions for each app. I'm a dark mode fan, so that's good. I don't like the new navigation. I find it faster to tap a button than to execute a gesture. I'm currently using the Android 9 (Pie) navigation because it's somewhat of a compromise between three-button and full gesture. I use the accessibility menu and full gesture nav doesn't work well with it.
I spent about a minute trying out the new navigation before giving up on it. I wonder if Pixel 4 will support the old style…
Received the October security patch this morning 4.3MB. It took a while to install given how small the patch was. Says it fixes critical bugs and improves performance and stability.
My Gmail just changed to the dark mode magically. Gmail settings now has a "Theme" setting and mine is set to System Default.
The last item I had that didn't change to the dark theme was the Google News Widget. Last night I got an update for Google News and the widget is now changed to the dark theme
