I have an old plan its the local freedom 50(only 50 minutes) for $19 /month.

I am going on vacation and need about 100 to 200 minutes, any suggestions on what the next best plan would be? Any secret alltel plans that would be slight abovet the $19 one?

Tthe reps on the phone want me to change to the $39.99 plan and I dont need that many minutes.

I remember Alltel offering 100 roaming minutes for $10 per month... try asking for that.

The lowest national plan is 39.99. The lowest local plan is 19.99, the gf50 plan you are on. Any higher local plan you use will have the same coverage as the gf50.

Do as above with the 10$ free to roam feature. If you need more minutes, the choose the 39.99 national plan. You can always go back to the gf50 plan and everything will be pro rated down to the number of days.

The Greater Freedom 50 is no longer available. Go ahead, call CS and ask for it but be prepared for laughter and being told that plan is no longer sold.

The cheapest currently offered plan is the GF300 at $29.99, but it contains no M2m, no N/w, no calling features, or any other frills.

I would just get the NF500 and not worry about it.

Right now you are paying 40¢ per minute on a very old Alltel plan.

In your case, prepaid is a good deal,
AlltelU prepaid is at 15¢ per minute,
in which 100 minutes would cost $15, and 200 minutes would be $30.

Otherwise for postpaid, $39.99 is the lowest level offered for Greater Freedom & National Freedom plans.

    Kyle has a good point....

Prepaid would be a good route or pay the overage if you want to keep your current plan.

You could try the extra roaming minutes - you can generally add that to your plan from the My Account website.

Probably not if the plan is outdated.
