I've just recently bought a triband GSM phone(no 850mhz), and i am getting 0 bars signal at my home with my current carrier T-Mobile. The only option i have now is to try cingular, but i only have the 1900mhz band, do you think i should still try cingular without the 850 mhz band on my phone? Im located in Vallejo Calfornia the Bay Area.

No. There is no service in you area. If you have a T-Mobile national plan, it would have roamed on Cingular.

Not everywhere & even if it did roam on Cingular, if the OP's phone does not have 850, he wouldn't be able to pick up a Cingular signal.

To the OP, you can get a free phone at Cingular & try their service for the 30 days to see if it works everywhere you need it.
I wouldn't use your current phone with a Cingular SIM, since you will still have the same problem without 850.

You can get the SE w300i phone from Cingular free. It has great reception and great battery life.

first thing to know when considering Cingular with an overseas phone........dont bother even trying unless it supports 1900 and 850 cuz Cingular uses both evenly...........and T-Mobile is starting to use 850 a lot for roaming
