A few minor things much better battery life, customizable keys, skinnable if you wish...etc.

It's all a matter of taste I guess you could say, I was just so use to the standard Moto UI on my old E815 I just could not live with the red bars from VZW and all the lock downs.

I have to beg to differ on that, FYI your phone was not fried, all you had to do was write the original seem back to the phone and it would have been up and rolling.

Furthermore being that there are Monster flash files released you could have just boot the phone in to bootloader mode and flashed it with that and got it back to an brand new out of the box situation. I've bricked mine numerous times just testing different seem edits to see what would happen and have always been able to get it back to working order. Flashing is really not that big of a deal as long as you follow the guide to a T.

Using a V3M with the Alltel software. I assigned custom MIDI ringtones to several of my contacts. It rings fine when they call. Unfortunately when they send me a Pix/Flix message the assigned "beep" ringtone doesn't work - instead the phone plays the same MIDI ringtone it does for their voice calls. This means I have to respond to the phone quickly or the song keeps on playing. I'd prefer the "beep".

I did a search for a solution but was unsuccessful. Has anyone else had this problem, or have a solution?

It is known issue and there is no fix for it at this point. I had the same thing on my v3c flashed to Alltel. It must be something in the code that does it on the Moto UI and I have yet to figure it out or find any info on how to get it to not do it. I agree tho it can be a pain if you do a lot of txting which I don't do thank heavens.

OK thanks. Unfortunately I travel in my job and the wife and kids send me a bunch of texts/pix when I'm on the road.

Guess I'll have to live with it.
