Noticed today the local Altel store was rebranded over the week-end and is now Verizon Wireless.
Georgetown SC 29440 They also put up a small canvas banner saying Altel.

Some locations a dual locations - they can handle both Alltel And Verizon Wireless. Other than that, if the main signage is for VZW, then they are probably prepping for the next phase of transition scheduled for later this summer.

Ya they build an Alltel store in ocala, fl and changed it to Verizon after a few months. They did it to compete with our indirect store.

I've noticed that the Alltel brand is being phased out lately. I'm seeing less Alltel commericals on TV and I also noticed a new billboard yesterday near me that had "Alltel better together with Verizon" or something close to that and only the Verizon guy and logo were on that billboard. One of the Wal-Mart's in Kingsport is no longer selling Alltel and has now replaced them with T-Mobile.

The Alltel brand is soon to disappear. Once Verizon finishes transitioning the non-divisted customers to their billing system (which should be done before the year is out) it will likely be gone. The Divested markets were going to continue to allow the management Trust to use the Alltel brand, but as all those markets have now been bought, that's the end of Alltel.

The slogo is "Verizon and Alltel...Better Together."

I'm afraid the whole or should I say "hole" is lesser than the sum of its parts. Poor service, different answer every time I call, their reps promise bonus minutes if you sign for a year and later you discover that "that promotion was expired". Bunch of Morons. :browani:

FYI...if you are a converted Alltel customer you are dealing with the same reps you dealt with BEFORE you were converted. Former Alltel reps are the ones taking the converted alltel calls - so they are very familiar with alltel plans, along with VZW plans, equipment, and policies.
