In the past couple of days I've noticed other AT&T phones in north NJ have changed their alphatags to AT&T. They no longer show Cingular. This morning my phone changed too. Anyone else?

Since I migrated over last month I can't help on this, my alpha tags changed with the new phones/SIMs.

I will check with one of my Co-Wokers that has AT&T.

All the phones at the local ATT store have said ATT for weeks, if not months. The main corp store also had a sign change 2 months ago...corp store in the mall (originally ATT wireless haha) just has a banner. My ex's cell still said Cingular as of last weekend. He has a SLVR.

My roommate's phone changed over a month ago, and my neighbor's changed 2 weeks ago, but my unmodded phones still show Cingular.

My SIM hasn't changed — it still shows Cingular when inserted into my girlfriends D807. However all of my Nokia phones now show AT&T when on 310-380 and Cingular when on 310-170, regardless of whether the SIM inside is AT&T Wireless, Cingular/AT&T, Russian MTS or United Mobile.

O2 UK Sims show Cingular here still. When they log onto the network, Cingular even sends a text saying "Welcome to Cingular. The wireless provider America trusts" or something like that. Sounds like the old ATT Wireless ads!

Not having ATT/CING .. Can someone explain how the Banner system they use works ...
It would seem that it is not simply Network based, according posts, & has something to do with SIMS ... VZW's banners, for example, are fone-based , in the ERI file of the fone (which is not updated OTA like the PRL file or neighbor list files are..), What makes some sims get the new banners & others not with AT&T?

My 6126 only says AT&T because care sent an OTA to my phone due to a sim issue I was having with my contacts. So I do not think the tags have started to change yet in my area.
