New Samsung, Alltel Relationship Brings Innovative Phones to Customers; Agreement Includes Concert Sponsorships, Content for Subscribers October 13, 2005 | 12:00 AM Samsung Telecommunications America (Samsung) and Alltel today announced a new relationship that will bring Samsung's line-up of award-winning wireless handsets to Alltel's growing national customer base. The relationship unites two of the wireless industry's most recognized companies in terms of customer loyalty and advanced wireless products and services. Samsung has been named the number one phone manufacturer in consumer loyalty for four consecutive years (Brandweek/BrandKeys), and Forbes named Alltel the "Best Managed Company in Telecom" in January 2005. The premiere product marketed through this relationship will be the SCH-n330, one of the first phones to incorporate Immersion's VibeTonz(TM) touch sensation technology. With VibeTonz, consumers can personalize their n330 to vibrate to a ringtone's rhythm. The phone's unique pop-up screen and trendy color accents further allow Alltel customers to express their individual style. To launch their new relationship, Samsung and Alltel are sponsoring the upcoming North American tour of the band Simple Plan. The promotion also features exclusive concert dates for Alltel customers in Norfolk, Va., Cleveland, Phoenix, Tampa, Fla., and Charlotte, N.C. Starting tomorrow, Alltel customers in these markets will receive two concert tickets with the purchase of a Samsung n330, while supplies last. Additionally, Alltel customers nationwide can download ringtones and screensavers featuring the popular artists at http://www.samsungwireless.com/alltelrock . "Samsung is excited about our new relationship with Alltel," said Peter Skarzynski, senior vice president of wireless terminals, Samsung. "We look forward to working together to introduce Alltel customers to our innovative and diverse product lineup, giving them exciting new handset choices for their wireless needs." Samsung's n330 is available through Alltel for $69.99 with a two-year service agreement. Please visit http://www.samsungusa.com/wireless or http://www.alltel.com/ for more information. "Alltel is dedicated to keeping our customers ahead of the game when it comes to the latest wireless technology," said Wade McGill, vice president of wireless product management at Alltel. "The new Alltel/Samsung n330 with VibeTonz gives customers the opportunity to personalize their wireless phone service with special ringtone vibrations. The n330 is perfect for the trendy, on-the-go consumer."
Interesting... I didn't see this coming. But when they say, "Alltel is dedicated to keeping our customers ahead of the game when it comes to the latest wireless technology...", they could have done so by releasing a phone that HAS the latest technology. Yannow? The N330 isn't exactly high-end. But it is a good start!
