Just received a phone I high-bid on eBay. It's meant to replace a damaged phone on an existing plan, trying to save $$$ instead of paying the high outright Alltel price. Turns out it is a PREPAID 2865i with the Bluetooth headset included. The local Alltel stripmall store says it CAN be reprogrammed from the prepaid software to plan usage, but they don't have techs onsite to reprogram it. Any suggestions of who/where to send this to? Or, I could resell it on eBay, but where would be the best place to buy this or a similar Alltel-enabled phone besides Alltel??? Thanks for any opinions/info!
If it is an Alltel U prepaid phone that there should not be any issue with using it on a postpaid account. But if it was a Simple Freedom phone or something then they would have to go to the nearest store that has the ability to "reflash" the phone with the correct software.
The Simple Freedom 2865i could not be hooked up to Diego at my local store. The ONLY option is to 'not be able to activate' it over the air with Simple Freedom and get them to give you the SPC. The software is IDENTICAL to the Alltel version, right down to the Axcess shop.
