We have a grandfathered in plan from all tell now. We use only about 600 min a month. We had the plan at 1200 because we added a line and didn't know how much that person would talk (he has been known to be quite chatty). He hasn't done much talking though.

We wanted to know if we could bump it down to a lower plan without extending our contract. I know we could do this with Alltel and I know you can do it with Veriozon if you signed with their contract. But what about our situation? We have an Alltel contract but now Verizon is our provider. We do not want Verizon so we are trying to not extend anything.

    Thanks

You can change plans with VZW with no contract liability. You even have the ability to do it online via My Verizon (which you could NOT do with Alltel).

    NO!

To be blunt and to the point: The only thing VZW uses contracts for is purchasing equipment at less than retail price, the same as Alltel. You can change plans all you want with no contract liability.
