New phone features ultra-slim design, MP3 player and Celltop
    technology
    LITTLE ROCK, Ark.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 26, 2007--Alltel
Wireless (NYSE: AT), America's largest network, and LG Electronics
MobileComm U.S.A., Inc. (LG Mobile Phones) today announced the LG
AX8600, an ultra-slim phone that lets customers listen to their
favorite music while on the go. Available in Marine Blue, Apple Green
and Shimmering Gold the LG AX8600 features an MP3 player with
    touch-sensitive external keys, a 1.3 mega pixel camera/camcorder,
Alltel's patent-pending Celltop technology and entertainment
applications including Alltel's Axcess TV and XM Radio Mobile, making
this a must have mobile entertainment device. The LG AX8600 is now
available and can be purchased at Alltel Wireless retail stores and at
    www.shopalltel.com.
"For our active customers who desire a phone that offers the
latest in technology and fashion, the LG AX8600 is a perfect fit,"
said Wade McGill, Senior Vice President of Product Management for
Alltel Wireless. "In addition, Alltel Wireless customers can choose
from three great colors that best reflect their personality."
The LG AX8600 includes a 1.3 mega pixel camera with video,
Bluetooth Stereo(R) wireless technology, an expandable microSD memory
slot and the latest Axcess features, including Alltel's Mobile Guide
navigation service. The phone also comes with Alltel's Axcess TV
application preloaded, allowing subscribers to watch over 25 available
channels, and features XM Radio Mobile, a subscription radio service
that provides customers with unlimited access to select audio streams
of 20 popular commercial-free XM music channels for $7.99 per month.
"LG continually strives to develop sophisticated wireless phone
designs that not only play to consumer's sense of style, but also

cell phone users across the nation."
The phone is equipped with Alltel's exclusive Celltop technology,
which is free-of-charge and features 11 pre-installed and downloadable

Ironwalt, have you see this phone in person? I was looking at in online and saw a commercial for it. It looks to be about the size of a Razr, but does seem to be fairly user friendly.

That's about all I've done too. I would love to see one close up. I don't know why Alltel just sent out the press on it. It's been on the web site for a few days.

I'll give our rep a call and demo one. Besides I need a phone, I misplaced my alltel Razr. And since my Cingular phone is out of Texas it makes it pretty difficult for anyone to fet in touch with me. I'll let you know how that LG is.

Yeah let me know what you think. I will be in the market for a new phone in a few months and I love my razr so I would like to have another one or something like it.

The AX8600 is the size of a RAZR but it looks like the RAZR and KRZR had a baby. I don't like its' GUI as much as Motorola's but it is an okay phone, IMHO.

I'm sure I'll stay with a Moto and just get the newer razr. I just can't wait till I can update again.
