Alltel is ripping of users of thier DATA plans

    I upgraded to the HTC 6800 from The 6700 and love the phone. The only problem I've had is Alltel disables many features of the phone. You have to pay for unlimited data service, but they disable features of the phone that use too much (in their opinion) bandwidth.

    But with a few downloads and tweaks you can turn on the full features of the built in GPS system, You can watch Youtube videos, and other features Alltel keeps from you. They told me they were having software problems with their system and because of that some advertised features won't work. BULL____!!! They don't want it to work.

    "Work arounds" are available.

    Here is the page for Alltel's HTC PPC 6800. It lists all the specs, features, etc. for the device. Exactly which advertised features aren't working?

    Also, you have a 30 day trial period with the smartphones so if you're unhappy, why don't you take it back?
