So is there a collection of info about the Alltel network around anywhere? Like info on the network and it's frequency's and all that? I'm new obviously but didn't see anything around.

Well.....here is pretty much the low down....

Primarily CDMA networks, mostly 800 mhz. (Cellular), and some 1900 mhz (PCS). Data- 1xRTT and EVDO.

They also have a GSM network which was acquired along with CDMA networks when they bought Western Wireless.

All new customers get CDMA phones. The GSM is for roamers and legacy customers from the buy out.

Here is a link to there current license coverage.

Every where else that is in white they either roam on VZW, Sprint, USCC, etc. They may have more because I'm not sure if the Midwest Wireless buy out is included in that map.

There were never any WWC customers on GSM, the GSM network was for roaming only.

There were areas that used to be TDMA (including two at the time of the Alltel conversion,) but the GSM network was set up only as a roaming cash cow.
