    EVDO Technology Delivers Speeds Comparable to Cable or DSL

    GAINESVILLE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 25, 2007--Alltel Wireless
    (NYSE:AT), America's largest network, is now offering Axcess Broadband
    service in Gainesville and surrounding areas. This next generation
    EVDO (evolution data optimized) technology provides customers with
    unlimited wireless access to the Internet at speeds comparable to
    wired broadband connections such as cable modem or DSL.
    Axcess Broadband makes it easy to surf the Internet, access e-mail
    and calendars and download large, graphic-rich files while on the go.
    Using the service, customers can access advanced business, news and
    entertainment applications from their laptops, smartphones or handsets
    at average speeds of 400 to 700 Kbps with maximum speeds of up to 2.4
    Mbps.

    solutions for Alltel Wireless in Florida. "Axcess Broadband wireless
    Internet service delivers an unmatched wireless broadband experience

    Alltel is rapidly expanding its high-speed network in Florida,
    where in the past year the service has been launched in and around
    Tampa, Pinellas, Fort Myers, Pensacola, Panama City and Tallahassee.
    Nationally, Alltel has introduced Axcess Broadband in metropolitan
    areas such as Charlotte, Cleveland and Phoenix; in smaller cities such
    as Little Rock, Ark.; Raleigh, N.C., and Savannah, Ga., and in towns
    such as Jonesboro, Ark.; Alexandria, La., and Durango, Colo.
    Alltel plans to launch Axcess Broadband in additional markets
    across the country in 2007, giving it one of the largest EVDO
    footprints of any U.S. carrier.
    Axcess Broadband is available for $59.99 a month for unlimited use
    with qualifying voice plans. In addition to supporting a wide range of
    productivity enhancing business applications, it enables Alltel's
    Axcess TV, with more than 25 channels, and XM radio, with 20 of the
    best satellite radio music channels. To experience the high-speed
    network, customers will need an EVDO-capable handset, such as the
    MOTORAZR V3c, or a laptop PC data card, such as the Kyocera Passport
    1xEVDO PC Card.
