Largest Network Claim: Based upon analysis by an independent research company in December 2005, which compared marketed coverage patterns at the time of their creation of each wireless carrier without allowance for variations due to electrical interference, customer equipment, topography and each carrier’s translation & defined preferences of their own internal engineering data.

Translation - They have more licensed geographic coverage than any other carrier in the US. The problem with that however though is a lot of their licensed coverage area is quite rural so not that many people in this country actually live in some of those areas. Also licensed coverage means they have a license to operate in a specific area but they may not provide service there. So the largest network claim they make while true in a way is a pretty big stretch.

Yeah they cover the largest amount of the country then any other carrier. Not population wise. But the largest area. This is all as far as native coverage goes compared to native of everyone else.

What Alltel says they cover more square miles than any other provider.
Remeber allot of markets Alltel is in are rural, with not that many people in them.
I know they have to be neck and neck with VZW.
I think western Texas makes the difference.
