I found this on AOL's site: http://www.aim.com/get_aim/win/win_beta.adp I was wondering if anyone has tried this software for phones that don't support Instant Messenger such as Sprint.
The new AIM forwarding software is great! It's not so much software, actually all it does is, if you have and AOL or AIM screen name, when you are signed off, a mobile icon comes up next to your name. People can send you IMs, but you can't respond to them, and an auto-response tells them that, so they know. Its a nice setup, but I still wish Sprint and AOL would get their SH*T together and come out with the REAL AOL Mobile messenger!!!!!!!! They've been bragging about it for how long now??? anyways, hope that helps ya out a little
There's another one called imforwards.com and you can reply back to the messenger so it's two-way. It's pretty cool.
I tried using this service before Verizon got AIM SMS. It was great when it worked, which was NOT most of the time. It is working now?
Yes, it works very good for me. When I log off my AIM from the computer, the IMForwards takes over like a couple of minutes later. But IMforwards uses email to communicate with your phone. I've noticed that with Verizon and Sprint you need to be signed in to the internet to be able to receive email alerts which is a pain. With TDMA or GSM phones you dont need to be signed in to receive email alerts. How did you receive AIM messages alerts when you're not using the phone?
