Activate or not before Selling Verizon Phone (never activated)

    Hi,

    I recently purchased a new phone from Verizon as my upgrade. I have no intention of using this phone, I only upgraded in order to sell it online and make some money.

    The device was shipped to me and has never been opened. My question is - do I need to activate the phone on my account (and then de-activate it) before I ship it to someone else who plans to use it? Or can I just send them the phone without it ever being activated and it will work?

    Yes, you need to activate the upgrade phone first. Your account is "frozen" until you activate the upgrade.

    Then you can reactivate the current phone.
