A530 Launch date/pricing on Verizon is... The phone will be released on april 17. Full retail price is $249. It doesn't have analog. It only works with Americas choice plan. Let the party begin!
A530 Launch date/pricing on Verizon is... The A530 is in stores now.. A lot of stores in my market received them on the inventory shipment today.. I saw the dummy and played with the real one.. I can't believe it actually has some normal ringers... The funny thing is they are not parting with them, and most everyone still said the 17th.. I actually think it will be sooner, but who knows.. I will find out the price probably tomorrow and will post... I thank the members who had the faith in me back a couple of weeks ago when I broke the news on the 17th.... thank you... On a further note... I also messed around with the 7135 also in store.. this phone is 499 and direct fullfill only until the 28th.. Then stores should have it..
A530 Launch date/pricing on Verizon is... If you know of a store which has the actual Samsung a530 in stock now, then I assume you wouldn't mind telling us the city where that store is located in and preferrably a telephone number?? If you can not post this verifiable information, then we will have to assume it is not true... so I would appreciate if you could share this. Thanks.
A530 Launch date/pricing on Verizon is... maybe he is right. I talked with Vz rep at Torrance, CA store yesterday and he said it will be released tomorrow. I will be there to check it out tomorrow. hopefully, i will post the first impression of this phone tomorrow!
A530 Launch date/pricing on Verizon is... well I have two conflicting views...when I asked a few reps in my area including the manager of the corporate store, they all seemed to point specifically at the 28th as the release date...however, I called telesales and spoke to 3 different reps that all said the 17th is the "National Launch Date". So who knows...at the worst, I figure if my area (Atlanta, Ga) does not get it in stock on the 17th, ill just order one from telesales. Jordan
A530 Launch date/pricing on Verizon is... Race, I guess that I understand your doubt, but then again I don't. You have one post and decide to come here to say everyone is lying. If you follow these forums, like most of us do, then you know who post reliable info and who doesn't. They have them, but I'm not going to give names and numbers so they can get a thousand calls... There will be another phone that will come out, and I might want to get info from them about it, which I would post here. If I sell them out, I won't get anything... They got the phone, t-shirts, and a whole bunch of stuff.. It seems VZW is going to make this big..
A530 Launch date/pricing on Verizon is... Refresh my memory, exactly when did you break the news to us? I only remember false dates with no legit facts to back them up by memebers on here. I got to give credit where credit is due ..vryuz is the one who told everyone the date and was sure enough about it to put his name on it. He was also vocal about it everyday and talked to us about the phone. You come out of the woodworks and want credit for "breaking the news" to us when you start to realize the the reality of this phone being released meanwhile i havent seen a post by you in weeks about this 530 topic.
A530 Launch date/pricing on Verizon is... How do you know full retail will be 249?? Is that without a contract, do you know the prices with the contract? How long till they offer rebates??
A530 Launch date/pricing on Verizon is... I started a thread " a530 in April" I wasn't saying that I solved cancer or anything.. I was just thinking the people that stood up when I originally posted the date..Because so many wish to jump on everyone instead of listening... A lot of people do actually have connections and everyone isn't Cellman or whoever
A530 Launch date/pricing on Verizon is... Xplicit, I'm sorry that I didn't answer all of your post .... I posted in March the release date, and yesterday I posted that I had actually held a working phone. I did see several and talked to several stores that had them in stock. I read these forums daily, and I post when I have news... There wasn't much to post between a confirmed launch date, and the stores getting them..
A530 Launch date/pricing on Verizon is... hiwayfuzz: Sell out your sources? What is this, irag?? Come on, why would any store care if you mentioned that they had the phone in stock? I have followed this board a lot but never had anything to post. All I asked was for simple proof that can be verified. I do not believe any verizon store would care if others knew they had the phone in stock... they can still explain that it can not be sold. If you know a store with the phone in stock, then it would be appreciated if you told us which store that is.
A530 Launch date/pricing on Verizon is... IRAQ! If you're going to try to be funny, please learn to spell!!
My mistake, the phone is $249 with the two year contract and one year will probably be more expensive. This is the info I got from guy named kevin at amerige retail store in fullerton, CA. He let me see a sheet of paper which said lots of stuff some of which is the price mentioned above and it doesn't have analog and it only works on americas choice plan and (this is the biggie) that phone will be out nationally on april 17. I also saw the demo phone which looked like a small toy phone with buttons that was small enough that you might push two at the same time. Of course I haven't seen the working model so I don't know how good the reception is or how bright the screen is, but for me the size, color and button configuration was a bit of a turn off. Also the fact that it doesn't have an analog makes me worried. I know certain indoor places, even in the city, does switch to analog. Not to have analog means those places won't get any signal. I doubt those places will be switched to digital even after the network gets completely digital. I think those places will just be no signal areas. I can't have that. I am seriously thinking about not getting a530. Unless there is a huge difference especially in signal and voice clarity and reception, I will just stick with 4400(which I am very happy with) and maybe wait for a better phone next year.
I have a simple question. What if samsung a530 doesn't live up to its hype? I have experienced that if you have too much expectation for something, it usually don't live up to the hype. It's like a movie, if I have too much expectation for it I come out disappointed. I think it will be the same for this phone. I have a suspision that I will be returning a530 and get 4400 back. Just a suspision. By the way, for anyone who actually saw the working model for this phone tell me two things: how bright and clear is the phone compare to 4400 and how good is the reception?
hey it is just a damn phone. It is super small, super dope, and people will be impressed when you show it to them. Clarity, dual band, who cares honestly? The LG 4600 is not cool looking, it is not impressive and it has a dinky small square screen. Nothing special, now the a530 is impressive and having the smallest phone is awesome, the smaller the better. It is a sick phone and i have been waiting months for it, all i care about it is that it is super small and had dual color screens. enough said. here's to its its release next week
If by hype, you mean 100% happy with it, you won't be. Nothing ever lives up completely to the expectations you have to it. Let me put it to you this way -- when I was with VoiceStream, I really dug the fact that I could get these tiny little phones that fit easily in the front pocket of my jeans. I wasn't into (and I'm still not) wearing things on my belt. But, I didn't like the fact that the network at the time was spotty. Did it live up to the "hype" that I thought it would? Yes, in the sense that my Nokia was small but no in the sense that my coverage was spotty. So, I moved to Los Angeles a few years after that, and I switched coverage to Verizon. The first phone I had was a LG 510 -- was I happy with it? No, in the sense that it was bulkier than the Nokia I had, but yes in the sense that my coverage and call quality was far beyond what I had with VoiceStream. Then I moved onto a v60c -- was I happy with it? Yes -- it was smaller and had a better UI that the LG, but the damn antenna was prone to snapping on the v60 (I've gone through about three or four antennas on this phone). Now... will I be happy with the a530? In some respects, yes -- it's small -- damn small -- and it has those groovy color displays. Polyphonic ringtones. An antenna that I won't be snapping every other month (hopefully). But, it doesn't have analog -- yes, I've had my phone go onto analog a few times, but 98% of the time it's in digital -- the battery life's probably going to blow because there's two color displays to deal with and I'm willing to bet that my thicker-than-most thumbs will cause more than a few dialing errors. But, despite the downside, I'm still planning on getting the a530 mainly because I'm sick of dealing with the antenna on the v60 and because I'm one of those people who have a small phone fetish. Just my two cents.
Thanks for all your opinion. I think I'll just stick with the 4400. I might miss the flashy part of dual color screen but if that is only benefit and reception is basically the same I will live with it.
I am new to this forum and must say I am surprised at some of the comments in the other folders. This would seem to me a great place to learn about new phones as it seems the people here are always buying the newest and "greatest" phones (I wonder where some have the money to keep upgrading cell phones every few months - I guess they don't have wives, children, mortgages etc.). Anyway, I too have heard about the Samsung A530 and am somewhat interested in it, but I will not purchase it till I hear from people who have used it (which is why I am here). I already know that the LG VX4400 is out, is well liked and seems the phone to beat from Verizion - I also know that Samsungs usuallly have low ring tones and other problems (which the LG VX4400 does not). I also don't understand why people think they have to be the first to get the A530 no matter what the cost post pictures of it, etc.- get a life if this describes you. What I hope to see here is a semi-professional review of the A530 with the LG 4400 so I can spend my very hard earned money on a phone that is not cheap ($200-$300 is a lot of money and I want to be very happy with the phone I spend this money on). Bottom line: The A530 will be available when it is available (I do really think it is not vaperware), and figure that by June it will be out and I will hear enough about it to make an intelligent decision. MIF
You are so cool and mature mr. coolandmature. Think about this... What if your 15 day trial period ends on the 19th and 2 days make a difference? SO if it doesnt come out by the 19th, your stuck with a crappy phone for TWO YEARS. Then it would be a big deal wouldnt it be?
Personally, I can't wait for tha A530... I wanted one ever since I stumbled across the Samsung display at Comdex in November and played with the phone a bit.... Didn't know there was so much "hype" about the phone until I got back and checked the forums... Just a few more days.... Anyhow, Huedaephone.... I went through 3 antennas in 6-months.... then I got a V60i antenna, and haven't had any problems since.... When you have it in the holster or pocket all day, they don't even end up bent and warped like the old antennas.... You can replace the antenna on a V60C with the V60i version at a VZ store.... Just make sure you get the -ENTIRE- antenna, including the base.... I have a part number at home that I have posted before.... Let me know if you need it, and I'll post it here... otherwise, I won't waste my time looking for it....
Just stopped by a Verizon store (here in Delaware) with a friend who was getting a new phone. They told us about the Kyocera Palm phone that is coming out within the next few weeks. He said they will get those in the store in about 2 weeks. I asked about the Samsung and he said everyone has been asking about it, but they haven't gotten a release date for it. He told me that if it was coming out within the next few weeks that they would know about it. I dunno, I hope it comes out soon. He also said that PTT has been pushed back at least until the fall. Hopefully the guy is wrong.
well after a very long wait, at least for me, I got a look at an a530 (the dummy phone ) in a store here in ATL...as per hudephone's description, the phone is small, but its marginally smaller than my v60. And while I was expecting a muted gold color, but this phone is gold...really shiny gold, which im sure some will like, and some will hate...it does have kindof a toyish appearance, but its not a dealbreaker for me at least...as for the release, they seemed pretty confused about it in the store...when I spoke to one sales person earlier in the day about the phone, he told me the 17th for sure...but when I finally went down to the store, a different person was positive that it was the 28th...who knows. The forums are helpful, you just have to be able to cut through what's what and remember what's important to some people might not be as important to you. I'm personally a gadget freak -- I use a Pocket PC when I go to the gym to record my workouts, keep up on A/V stuff, and yes, I think small phones with color displays that can play polyphonic versions of Disco Inferno are pretty cool. No, I don't have kids (that I know of), no, I don't have a wife, but I am looking for a condo. But I don't see how any of that directly translates to not wanting the latest and greatest phones, or how people who follow gadets more than others should "get a life." Some people collect stamps. Some people watch guys run around on a TV screen and throw a ball somewhere. Some people collect cell phones. Some people wear the underwear of the opposite sex. Some people do a combination of the above. My point is, everyone needs a hobby. If I had $50k sitting in my bank account, I'd be debating the relative merits of a BMW M3 vs. a Benz CLK with AMG mods -- if that still qualifies me as not having a life, count me in -- but as luck would have it, I do have enough for to replace my aging v60c. And you're right. When the a530 is for sale, it's for sale. Can't do nothing about that. You know what else? No matter there you go, there you are. But I digress -- you do have to be kind of nuts to buy it when it first comes out -- it's usually more expensive, and sometimes there's still bugs and kinks that haven't been worked out. But some people need to have it first, just like some people will stand in line for a week to be the first in line for Brittney Spears tickets. Again, to each their own, and everyone needs a hobby. As for a full review, I can tell you right now what's going to happen when the phone's released. (Someone posted something like this earlier, just doesn't remember who and where.) At first people are going to write, "X cellphone is the greatest thing since sliced bread. It's the apex of human engineering. My God, how did I ever live my life without it? Men look at me with respect, women swoon, my whites are whiter and look! It plays Who Let the Dogs Out and the Macarena for ringtones!" A few weeks later, people start finding problems. There's always problems. Nothing's perfect. "Hey, does anyone have Y problem with X phone? Because I was toying with it the other day, and for just this instance during a situation that has way too many variables to replicate, and my phone mysteriously summoned Satan, Godzilla and caused a supernova. I'm not happy anymore -- I'm returning it and getting my tin cans connected with a string back." A little after that, it's not the newest and bestest. People start getting wind of better stuff. "I read on phonescoop.com that Z phone is coming out. Is it worth waiting for this phone? I've heard it has GPS, a TFT color display, a fusion reactor for a battery, a fruit juicer, brain probes so all I have to do is think about who I want to call, and it has Menudo's complete library for polyphonic ringtones." And, a litte after that: "Damn, I can't believe we ever thought X phone was any good. I can't wait to rock out to my Menudo ringtones and squeeze some juice for my homies! Z phone is gonna be tha bomb d00d!" Rinse, lather and repeat. And if you really don't like that super-duper phone you waited most of your natural life for, just return it. You have, what, 15 days? Like I said, I'm a fool (Did you know you can't post s*cker here? Go figure.) for high-tech gadgets. I might just break down and try to be the first kid on my block to get the a530. But there is good information to be found here, and just because the people here have a passion for technology, it doesn't mean they have any less of a life than anyone else or that they haven't contributed to the surplus population, file joint taxes or have that catch-all excuse that is a mortgage.
Thanks for the autobiography RX78. In addition to banning s*cker on the site, maybe we should have a word limit per message? LOL
Thanks Neophyte for your reply. I agree with most of what you say, and enjoyed reading it. What I meant by getting a life was in reference to those people in this forum who are making up stories about when the A530 will be available and also posting pictures to prove that they have it (and maybe copying them from some other place). I wish I had the money to buy a new cell phone, TV, stereo system, every year as I also am an electonic nut and love this stuff, it's just that my priorities have changed as I have gotten older and can't afford to do that, so I have to leave it to those who can so when I decide to upgrade I will get some good information. I plan on buying whatever phone I get at full retail price so I do not think I will have a 15 day return policy. I do not like these 2 year contracts as I want the flexibility to dumb verizon if I want to, and am also mad at them as they will only do the upgrade of phones every 2 years if you get a 2 year contract (it use to be one year). Verizon has the best reception in most of the areas I go to so they are the only real possiblity for me. I would like to know more about the fact that the A530 is only digital and wonder how much of a problem this will be? - I know that in many parts of the country there is still only analog connections and this could be a big enough problem to convince me not to buy the A530 - they say the phone will work only on the America Choice plan (which I am on) so maybe this will not be a problem? I hope to hear more about this. MIF
Hello everyone, I am on the phone with Verizon wireless right now and they just told me that it will be available on the 17th. I am trying to get pricing now as I write, they are having trouble doing this but at least they have it in their computers and the accessories are listed on the wesite. She can't find it, I guess we will have the pricing on the 17th. MIF.
