I haven't seen any quad-band dual-SIM phones before. Mods, if I'm mistaken, feel free to delete this.

dmapr, thanks very interesting. How does this work, if I have a local SIM and my at&t SIM when I am overseas, will I able to choose what SIM to use for the function I am about to perform?

PS: If I was not so desperately saving money for the BB BOLD or the Treo 850, I would pick this one up today.

    Nice find dmapr!

Even without 3G I would pick one up if I had the money, always wanted a dual-SIM phone.

Charlyee, good question. I've only seen this on a couple of sites and both have the same limited description posted. Since according to the specs both SIMs are active at the same time I imagine there has to be a way to select which one is either a primary (meaning all user-initiated actions go out on it) or to be used for the next immediate action.

Budney, thanks! I too have all kinds of itching over it, but $250 (from LDPost) is still a bit steep.

I wonder what OS it has? By the specs it looks like it is a smartphone. So $250 for a dual-SIM smartphone type device is cheap IMHO.

I was able to find a YouTube video from which it doesn't look like a smartphone, but interesting nonetheless.

Also, it appears to be CECT K630i and when you look around, one can be had for <$150.

Furthermore, one listing on eBay claims that it doesn't work with 3G SIM cards, yet the above video shows very clearly that the SIM card the person is using is the A&T 3G SIM.

Thanks for that video of that smartphone! ;) With the phone having a stylus, 2.6in QVGA touch screen, and all the features mentioned it is IMO a smartphone. The OS I would guess is a Symbian varriant or linux. With the prices that are listed on eBay, this phone is a great deal.

A quad-band dual SIM is indeed a rare animal, however I'm always wary of unknown phone manufacturers as you have no idea about the quality of the phone, or what kind of support you can get for it.

When I was in Ukraine a few months ago, I saw the Samsung D880 dual SIM was getting alot of advertisement (I guess for visiting businessmen, most of the locals didn't seem to care about it). I thought it was also quad-band, but the specs here say ony tri-band (900/1800 Europe, 1900 USA). Maybe there's a US version of it with 850/1900 also?

...anyway, I'd take a tri-band phone from a known manufacturer (yes, even Scamsung :p) before I bought some unknown brand... but that's just me ;)

PS- I like how the picture shows one SIM for the boss and one for the sweetie....but maybe they should be showing one SIM for the wife and one for the mistress? :p
