Today is dissapeared off of the Verizon website. (I live in the Minneapolis, MN area). I emailed customer support and they said it was gone to. And I was going to upgrade to it on Tuesday! :crying: Now I'll have to get an all-digital phone if I want a good voice quality, good signal quality phone. I suppose I could get the 4500, sell it on ebay, then use the money to buy a 440 on ebay... But enough about me - a moment of silence for the phone please. :cheers2:
I must apologize to you. It is my fault that the 4400 is gone. The 4400 is my third phone. They all disappeared within a month or two of my getting the phone. It must be me. I'm sorry.
Yes, you could get 4400 at Radio Shack etc, but I would not use Verizon service with a phone not, also, supplied, by them. In the case of a problem, I think there would be better help, if CS, knew something about the phone. With all my phones, I had this "expert" advice for at least two months, until Verizon no longer carried the phone.
not sure what you're trying to say, but if you can get your phone service even if you didn't buy the phone at the Verizon store. I found out from my experiences that not everyone that works at Verizon is an expert.
Rich, I would definitely be more worried about this happening if the 4400 wasn't such a popluar phone. There's an entire web pages dedicate do explaining and hacking it. lildrummerboy, thanks for the info. I'm hesitant though - does radio shack do the new-every-two thing? What if the phone turns out not to work out in my area for some reason. Cell phones are funny. Can I still return it? Does radio shack carry all the other verizon phones so I could swap it?
it's too bad the 4400/4400B is gone..i've had mine for about a year, the paint on the side buttons are gone and the 4 way navigation key, but it is still a great preformer.
Will, If you are not concerned about the status of the 4400, and you may be right. Radio Shack is an authorized dealer. You get the same deals there that you get directly from Verizon. Howver, for technical go to the nearest Verizon store. F/Y/I, I have a 4400 and am fairly happy with it. Only problem on some calls the other person says that I am breaking up. Other times from the same location the call is fine. With other phones the call was always problem free.
No we do not do the new every two thing. But as far as everything else I think we can help you better than the Verizon store. We have a better return policy than the coporate stores (14 days service, 30 days equipment). We also do carry the full line of Verizon phones. The 4400 just went on sale too, so you could pick it up for $49.99.
Rich6880, Did I here you right the VX4400 is on sale for $50 "outright". send me an e-mail and we will talk Thanks, Tim
ive had mine for 3 months now and all ready verizon pulls it!!! lol! that happen to me when i had tmobile. Oh well....It is a great performer...this summer i might get rid of it and get the vx4600...yea the paint really wears...plus i dropped that thing so many times my vx4400blue is almost silver.
The radioshack website, on the front page, says it's $50 with a 2 year agreement, $250 without. Buy hey, if it was $50 outright, I would want to know! I'd pick it up in a heartbeat.
Thawmeout, I think it was lildrummer boy, who quoted the $50.00 price. I'd go out today and get one, for a back up. I think he now says it is with a 2yr contract.
So, do you make analog calls? I travel a lot for work, and found I never needed analog. In fact, the seven years I have been using digital phones, I have never made an analog call. Going to an all digital phone was a no brainer for me...but, your mileage may vary.
CWick, no actually I have yet to make an analog call that I wanted to (a couple times with a crappy phone I have made or received an analog call because I forgot to check if I was roaming). Mostly it's just a paranoia, emergency use concern. Actually, I'm trying out the LG vx4500 and just crossing my fingers. I suppose I can always take my old trimode audiovox with me when I travel for "emergency use".
(So many people loved this phone. So few hated it. It was cut down in its prime. What a pity.) :crying:
My Radio Shack dealer is holding a LG4400B for me for Sat. when my contract runs out with ATT. Radio Shack has 4400B's in stock. Just give 'em a call and see who in your area has the phone. $49.99 as well!
Analong is a crutch....toss it and walk, you are healed. Make sure you get the V2 firmware update on the 4500.
I got the v2 upgrade on my 4500, but sadly it doesn't get decent reception in my room. I'm going to try swapping it for another one, but I'm not holding my breath. I thought I was going to be all "spiffy" by upgrading to a newer phone, but it looks like I might have to go back to my old Nokia 3589i, with the crappy headset jack.
maybe the area where he's at it not maximize to use all digital yet.. there were alot of users with the 6k that weren't happy because they would drop calls due to the fact that they lived in fringe digital reception areas though the 6k is an excellent performing phone...
