Well, long time listener, first time caller here. I've been with Sprint for nearly 10 years and am definitely a fan. I have the SERO plan and a MotoQ. I've finally convinced my girlfriend to switch over to Sprint and the SERO plan from her ~$90 Verizon bill. She's interested in getting either of the following: LG Rumor, Samsung M520, or the Palm Centro. She sends a lot of pictures via text message and would like to not lose that capability. I know that I don't have it with my MotoQ (although there are ways around it) and just curious which ones can do it. Thanks in advance for any help.
Sprint's picture mail system uses the web to send pics and not text messaging. At least on the phones that I have used. The LG Rumor is very popular and I would recommend that one. The Samsung M520 is a Power Vision phone so the internet will be a little faster. But the Rumor's QWERTY keypad is sweet.
Wirelessly posted (I heard a Rumor: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; OpenWeb 5.6.1.3-03) Opera 8.54) »Post Reply
Wirelessly posted (Walkguru's: Opera/9.50 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/4.0.9800/302; U; en)) i have the centro and love it with sero.
I like smartphones/PDA phone so I would go with the Centro. But may be with the two links below your GF can widen her phone choices. For the WM/Sprint MMS thing you may want to read the thread below. The is how Sprint would like WM users to send MMS. The good news is MS & Sprint are working on a MMS app that really works like it should with out 3rd party software. Use Email to send MMS with Sprint Or even better you may want to try this app, it should work on your Moto Q. I have not personally tried it. sMMS Picture Mail Composer
The Centro, Rumor, and M520 all do picture mail, which while not exactly MMS (pic + text), the differences are not obvious to the user. The Centro is the only Sprint PDA that is picture mail capable. The camera on the Rumor is pretty lousy.
Thanks everyone for the help. i think she's going to go with the Samsung M520 since the price is right. She really likes the full QWERTY keypad on the Rumor, but she didn't like the screen on it.
Well, she decided to go with the Centro. She loved the styling, the keypad, and the fact that she wasn't paying for it.
