This is for those who are still looking for a case for their 4900.

I was in Wal-Mart this afternoon. At the car audio section, I saw a horizontal leather case that's almost perfect for the 4900. It's only $7.50. But because of the protruding antenna of the phone, it's a bit tight when you want to put the phone in, face-inside, as it would be the most natural way of doing it. It feels less tight if you put the phone in face-outside. I guess as time goes the case will loosen up a bit.

    Thank you for the information.
I do not like the cases with the plastice covering the keys.

I will check out walmart next week.

Another good one is the generic Extra-Large holster from Belkin. I picked it up from Staples recently, and it has a swivel clip that allows me to wear it either horizontally and vertically. It also accepts the phone face-in or face-out. The front is "leather" with stretchy sides, so it should accept the extended battery as well.

this one is supposed to swivel (I'm assuming to horizontal) though the picture doesn't clearly reveal that it will - I'm looking for something like this rather than the ones that require me attaching something to the back of my phone

Here's the case I bought for my 4900:

Large Body Glove Case for the 4900

it doesn't swivel, but the belt clip feels very secure, and no poking in the back like vertical cases.... I bought it for $15 at Best Buy. It is the Body Glove Prizm Universal Horizontal Phone Case, and the Large size fits the 4900 very well.

I got a Body Glove case from Radio Shack for $19.99 that has a swivel on it, but it doesn't lock at an angle. I had a swivel locking clip in the past, and I really hated it. I ended up cutting the little locking post off with a knife. Anyways, the Radio Shack cat# is 17-818. It's listed on RS's website, but the picture is different from what mine looks like. The website shows it as being open at the top, the one I have has a flap that goes over the top with a magnetic snap on the front to hold the phone in. It's also silver/black, the picture shows black/black. The 4900 fits perfectly.

I stopped at Walmart, I did not find a horizontal case. I did find a generic case that worked for 7.58.

I didn't get a horizontal case, but a vertical case for my 4900. I bought it at a Wilson Leather store for about $7. You can usually find a Wilson Leather store in a mall around Christmas time or in outlet malls. It fits my phone perfectly. It has a velcro latch, a hole at the bottom to plug in a charger cable, a belt clip, and a zippered purse on the back. It is amazingly small and compact for it's carrying capacity.

I "doodied" mine up with some cheap costume jewerly from Wal-Mart. I needed something to distinguish it from my husband's. Besides, I just thought it was gaudy enough to look cool. [IMG]

Hey I didn't expect this thread would attract so many good leads. The 4900 does have quite a few choices for casing, huh? I have something to like just about all the pictures posted in the thread. :)

Gene, I should have pointed out that each Wal-Mart carries its own inventory depending on the local market situation as seen by the store manager. So chances are you can't find something in another WalMart 15 miles away. But the case I mentioned probably can also be found in other stores.

The Sanyo swivel (by dolphin) does look to be a fixed postion holster. The phone could fall off if it's turned horizontal. They probably posted the wrong picture. The 4900 probably would look nice in a holster like that.

Now, what's the deal with Ronx's "large body glove case"? I was expecting to see some really dull-looking fat case (doesn't "body glove" mean a fully-enclosing case?). Instead, I saw something very exotic! Is that the intended picture at all? Best Buy is too far from me, can you post more pictures?
