A Few questions about Alltel and their phones.

    I have a couple of questions about Alltel and the E815. Alltel bought US cellular where I live and I need to switch to them or find another carrier. Right now I have a V266 that if I keep it , it needs to be flashed to be more compatible with Alltel or I was thinking of going with the E815 or possibly a VC3. Does MPT work well with both phones for transferring ringtones & pics? And does Alltel lock out the phones so MPT wont work for this like Verizon does? I’m not really into modding for fear of making a paper weight. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

    Welcome to ALLTEL in Idaho!!! You will be a happy camper. Check out ALLTEL as they are one of the/the most competitive choice for you in your area now. Unlike Verizon, ALLTEL does NOT hack their phones and does not alter the original firmware like Verizon does not allowing bluetooth, etc. etc. I would chose the E815 over the RAZR personally.

    I think I'd choose the e815 as well.. when you're getting the razr, it's a great phone, but you're also paying for popularity... the e815 does all the razr does and more...

    I have a Alltel branded Razr V3C and not only can you use MPT. You can also do things wirelessly with Bluetooth. The Bluetooth is fully OBEX. I can move pics, videos, ringtones, MP3s, and contacts to and from my phone without MPT.

    Some of the Axcess Apps ringtones will be locked to the phone, usually the ones from realtone jukebox, other than that, we do not lock applications in the phone
