Do you mean Commonwealth Ave. ? Did you try it on the T yet?

My Daughter has a friend going to BU, too she gave up on Cingular (for that reason) a few years ago and is happy with Verizon.

Hope you have a good year UP there.

I had the WORST luck with AT&T in Boston during college and ended up switching to Verizon. My phone would work fine at home in the midwest, then drop calls all over Boston, Wellesley and various spots in between (NYC even!). AT&T tried to tell me I must be more than 8 miles from a tower AND that I had to go back home to get it serviced. That was the end of that, I paid them their stupid cancellation fee and got on Verizon, it was worth it!

Yes, Commonwealth Ave. Cingular is just great in Boston..that was just one minor annoyance.

And like most people have said, T coverage is spotty for most carriers. Except now, there is service throughout several of the underground stops and in a few years, the MBTA will install repeaters throughout the system (though, the MBTA is notoriously slow for improvements)

So far all of my Bostonian friends say either Verizon or Cingular with the verdict more towards Cingular. Thee are some suprising votes for Sprint in the mix but so far Verizon is the winner with Cingular in second place.
