I don't have near the knowledge as Larry; however I have been with Sprint since September, 1996 when they were originally rolled out as Sprint PCS in the MD/DC area. Overall, I have been pretty satisfied with the service I have. It really has improved over the years so I have decided to stay a bit longer. Happy holidays all! :)

Hey wasn't that originally GSM? Sprint's first system in MD/DC was GSM which they later sold off to what is now T-Mobile.

    Congratulations Larry!

It proves that not all Sprint's service is bad...;)

Besides, I've had very good service from Verizon for nearly 14 years, so it proves that service from "The Evil Empire" isn't all that bad either (for me, anyway). :D

Yes...it was GSM. The SIM card was almost the size of a playing card!! Have we come a long way or what? I remember Sprint giving me "free" phone when the network was being changed over from GSM to CDMA. ( I think this was part of a class action law suit because the GSM phone would NOT work on the new & improved CDMA network). But, I must admit it was a definate improvement when the service was changed over to CDMA.

But half of those 14 years must have been Airtouch right? I actually had them from 1994 to 1997.

Yes, true, I forgot about that...:O. It actually began at the very end of PacTel Cellular, then AirTouch for 6 years, and Verizon for the past 8 years. Same company, same phone number, different iterations. :)

Larry, I would hope that you have a loyalty discount by now, because people are getting them after their first 30 days with the company. :D
