    As mentioned above, the fantastic color Ericsson T68 (for only $199.99) and the sleek Nokia 8390 have been introduced for AT&T Wireless. Compare that to the Sanyo CDMA color phone that debuted for $500 for Sprint PCS!!!

    In addition, Sony/Ericsson just announced the following 2 phones (see below)! The GAIT (TDMA/GSM) and GSM phones are starting to roll in and looking good for AT&T Wireless!!!

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications today unveiled the T62u, the first phone to incorporate both TDMA 800/1900 and GSM 850/1900 frequencies and GPRS, in addition to analog. This enables seamless roaming across multiple wireless technologies for superior coverage. Being a GAIT phone (GSM ANSI Interoperability Team), the T62u will help operators transition their networks from TDMA to GSM technology. For the consumers the benefit is that the phone lives through network upgrades. The T62u is also Sony Ericsson’s first Java-enabled mobile phone for the Americas, allowing for download of games.
    Users of the T62u can take advantage of the phone’s Java capabilities and download new applications into the phone, including games, music, images and sounds along with productivity enhancers. The phone also has a large grayscale display for superior graphics as well as 50 voice tags and “Magic Word” menu controls for hands-free voice-activated dialing. The “Magic Word” feature allows users to choose a key word or phrase that, when spoken, alerts the phone that the user wants to make a voice-activated call. The T62u also helps operators manage transition capacity with its inclusion of Adaptive Multi Rate (AMR) technology.
    “With Java capabilities and dynamic accessory support, we believe the T62u is designed for the cell phone enthusiast who demands performance along with seamless nationwide coverage, “ said Bo Larsson, Corporate Vice President and General Manager, Sony Ericsson, North America. “This phone offers the ultimate personalization and high-end features for improved productivity.”
    The well-connected phone features general packet radio service (GPRS) for high-speed Mobile Internet access, a WAP browser, a five-way joystick for easy navigation, supports two-way text and enhanced messaging services (EMS) and mobile chat, calendar features with PC synchronization, compatibility with Bluetooth™ accessories, voice memo recording, a high capacity hierarchical phone book, and downloadable ring tones and pictures.
    The T62u is a sleek phone with a simple and intriguing design, which measures 121 x 54 x 23 mm and weighs 127 grams. The phone includes a built-in long-life lithium battery and an internal antenna that allows users up to 3.5 hours of talk time and up to 8 days of standby time. Innovative accessories for the T62u include the Sony Ericsson CommuniCam™ MCA-10, which allows users to take and send digital pictures, a USB data cable for connecting to personal computers, laptops and printers, and Sony Ericsson SmartBack™ accessories. Sony Ericsson SmartBack™ accessories fully integrate into the back of the phone and house accessories such as a retractable portable handsfree.
    The Sony Ericsson T62u is scheduled to be commercially available in Q3 2002. The T62u will also be featured at the CTIA Wireless 2002 trade show in Orlando, Florida, in the US, from March 18-20, 2002 at Sony Ericsson Booth Number 1463.
