I saw today that Radioshack has recalled all of the units that have already been shipped to stores. Apparently the phones that radioshack received needed to be reflashed in order to be EV-DO capable as advertised. I wonder if this is an industry wide thing or if RS just got a bad batch.

I, for one, am getting weary of Moto screw ups. I know their long history of radio communications, great RF, etc. But, come on. Enough is enough. As much as I'm disappointed in my v710, I was actually considering an 815....but, as I mentioned to my wife, maybe we should look at Sprint, they always have better phones. Maybe there's a reason they don't sell Moto any longer?

There was no recall. Certain batches of phones had to be reflashed at the store as they were shipped without Vcast software. The customer was never impacted. The V710 is one of Verizon's best performing phones ever. When their latest profits are released on Tuesday their NA market share will probably rise based on their strong Verizon portfolio.

Sprint will be selling Moto's by early next year. They also are deeply in bed with Moto on their next generation hopes of WiMax, sometimes called 4G.

Other than the V60v which is a left over from last year, there are no Moto Sprint phones. There haven't been any Moto phones in 2 years now.

I clearly stated that Sprint sells the V60v in the post you quoted. Also your link is invalid.

Actually, you just proove [sic] him RIGHT.

And I believe that the second "v" is short for "Vision", although the V60v only has limited Vision capabilities. (That, and the "V60c" designation was already taken.)
