This is what the T-Mobile rep walked me through after I called to sign up for T-Zones:

MENU - SERVICES - SETTINGS - EDIT ACTIVE SERVICE SETTINGS
    Homepage: http://wap.myvoicestream.com
    Session Mode: Temporary
    Connection Security: Off
    Data Bearer: GPRS
    GPRS Access Point: wap.voicestream.com
    IP Address: 216.155.165.050
    Authentication Type: Normal
    Login Type: Automatic
    User Name: (leave blank)
    Password: (leave blank)

    MENU - CONNECTIVITY - GPRS
    GPRS Connection: When Needed

MENU - CONNECTIVITY - GPRS - GPRS MODEM SETTINGS- EDIT ACTIVE ACCESS POINT
    GPRS Access Point: wap.voicestream.com

Keep in mind you'll have to sign up for the T-Zone's service before this will all work.

    Good luck!

    Hey Guys,

I am on T-Mobile with a Nokia 7210 and when I try these settings, it says "No Gateway Reply". I have signed on for the $2.99 deal with them. Anyway, what could be the reason for this?

Also, I am new to GPRS/WAP so I don't understand why everyone would have the same IP address on their phone.

    Thanks,
    Rizwan

i think the ip is the site that the phone is connecting to, not the phone's ip

Ummm... Each individual phone has an IP address. But the IP you are entering on the 7210 is the one you are connecting to.

Do you have the settings for the MMS??? I can't seem to get that to work.

Also in messages, in email; it asks for a email server number. Does anyone know what this is??? I have a Nokia 7210.

Spyder, thanks for this tip...I've been trying to figure this bloody thing out for quite some time now.

One question though...I made all the changes for the MMS settings about 30 minutes ago, sent an email to the phone immediately, and still have not rec'd notification of a new MMS. Any thoughts here?

Hmmm...ok, it finally came through, however there wasn't anything MMS about it. I sent a pic to the phone in both attachment and in the body and could not find either...any thoughts on this one??

    Thanks!

If you have t-zones, your phone's email is your telephone#, ie 5555555555@tmomail.net. You can send it pics and tunes...I haven't messed with it enough to know the size limitations though. Any insight here?

Thanks to the posters above, I was able to get my new Nokia 7210 up and running without having to call TMobile for anything other than to activate TZones. The specific messages which were beneficial were:

    GatewayJen on Oct 28
    spyder22 on Dec 9
    JJ3 on Dec 11

I think that gave me everything I needed. You guys are Great!

I was also able to set up my 6610 to use t-zones according to the info in this forum....thanks everybody.

I still have one problem...when I log on to wap.voicestream.com thru Services->Home and try to go to the Download Zone, it gives me the following message:

"We're sorry, your phone does not allow the download of ringtones and pictures. To seewhich phones allow downloading, please visit ww.t-mobile.com/products."

Obviously, my phone *does* allow download. Am I getting this message automatically because my phone isnt listed in T-mobile/t-zone's list of supported phones? Anyway to bypass this? Anywhere else on the web I can get ringtones/graphics/downloads for my phone? I tried club.nokia.com and they dont list my phone either. I realize its a new phone and has limited (ie. no) support here in the US.

Thanks for any help I may get.

any info on where to go to download stuff for the 7210? just signed up with t zones and after a bunch of fiddling and reading posts, manage to connect. first had setting on temporary and got on briefly but could not get back on. then switched it to permanent or gprs always on i think, than saw tzones and stuff. would not let me download either since phone is not listed. anyone try to add bookmarks or anything? lost in this whole new phone feature. did manage to send e-mail to phone, but did not work other way around. ???? where are the tech pros when i need em? lol. if anyone wants to share info or what have you using 7210, can always e-mail me. thanks.

    Heres a good site with 7210 stuff. (Also for 6610, 6100, 7650, 3650)
    http://homepage.ntlworld.com/mrwalker/index03.htm

You need to use IR or data cable to transfer.

Has anyone in the US upgraded their firmware? I think the GPRS bug is fixed in the latest version.
