Just wondering if this has happened to anyone that has the 710 and uses the bluetooth connection. Sometimes when I go to pair my phone with my HS 820, the screen on the phone will go dark, it will come back on, show no service for a few seconds then show service. At this point the connection is still not established. I go thru the process one more time and then it connects. This does not happen everytime but enough times to make me write this. Let me know
I think you mean "connect", not "pair". Pairing is normally done once (unless you select Delete under Device History to remove the encryption key), and devices then connect and disconnect (establish and break sessions) using that paring info. I've only paired my headset a couple of times (when first testing it), but it worked fine. I connect and disconnect daily (often several times a day) and in six months of use I have not seen the problem you describe. However, I turn the headset on and off when I'm not on a call. It sounds like your phone is rebooting. V710s seem prone to do that when you try something complex that outstrips their processing power (like quickly paging through a file of pictures). Are you turning the headset on with an active call, or doing something else with the phone at the same time?
You are right when you say connect vs pair. I only paired the devices when I first got them. When I go to "connect" them I have this problem. The phone does not shut down, the screen goes dark and it says no service. After the service comes back I try again and it works. This only happens every now and then.
This same thing used to happen to me when I would try to scroll through my pictures too fast. The problem was fixed once I updated to the SD version of software.
Same thing happens with my V710 and HS820 - but not too often. Looks like the phone performs a reset (screen goes blank, comes back with "no service", then back to normal). I then have to repeat the task of connecting the phone and headset. Ah, technology.
I use the V3 Razr and Motorola HS805 and have been experiencing similar problems. My screen just goes "white" or blank and reboots again. It tends to happen when I turn off my bluetooth manually without turning off "Power" in the cell phone settings. I thought my cell was bad and have called my cell phone company and asked for a replacement. Does this mean the cell phone is not faulty? Thanks for any input you can give. G
