http://abclocal.go.com/wpvi/story?section=consumer&id=4886107 this is going on near me, i live only about 15 mins from this.
Wow, what a goof up by both T mobile and the Town. I can't beleive that they messed up this bad by building it 8 feet away from a residential property.
It's one thing to throw some pannels up on an existing building or tower, but to put up a 200 foot lattice tower 8 feet from a residential area.....kinda sounds like my area. Come to think of it, that was T-Mobile as well (but this monopole is about 100 feet away from the property line. http://gallery.wirelessadvisor.com/showimage.php?i=520&catid=searchresults&searchid=442
I don't think anyone goofed up since it's being done on County property & will fall under their jurisdiction, just like the State can do some things without local approvals & can cause backlash like this with a community, in some area's they can over-ride the local goverments ordinances ect... (at least around here I know they can do this) It's going to come down to a power play between the County & the Town, it's just a shame that the County didn't get in touch with anyone from the local building dept. to work with them on this & prevent this problem, as for T-Mobile I think they did everything right since they were dealing with the County & didn't have to deal with the Town for permits or planning board approvals, thinking the County did or would handle any jurisdiction issues.
I wouldn't be surprised if they are exagerating when they say '8 feet' to add drama to their complaints. It's probably more than that.
Were they complaining about Indoor Reception? Now that they Do they also complain. Damn if you do and damn if Don't.
