I have had the phone for three weeks and love it. Voice clarity and RF are great! Lack of outside display is not that bad, my old star tac did not have one. Good phone!

Thanks so much for the info; I've pretty much narrowed my choice to Samsung A650 or LG VX3200. Decided I could live w/o the external ID ( I hope) but do want trimode. And a few, but not many bells & whistles.

Anyone else have an opinion? :)

I have the LG VX3200. I believe the 650 has more features than my 3200 but I really like my LG. This is my first LG phone and I am pretty much impressed with it. The VX3200 has good RF. Feels sturdy. It has all of the basic features that you really "need" in a phone. It does not have wap, games or Get it Now. You can however email ring tones and graphics to to yourself from Verizon's vtext.com web page for a small fee. I have done this and it worked great. Ringers are nice and loud. Call quality is clear. Speakerphone works pretty well. The phone has numerous alarms, scheduler, voice dialing ringer ID, picture ID, world clock, voice memo etc etc. Menu system and very easy to use. Screen is bright and clear.

I really like the 3200 and my only complaint is that LG should have made the flasing green service light do more. When you miss a call or get a message they should have had the light start flashing red or something. LG phones also missed the boat on missed call reminders. It will alert you if you receive a voice mail, page or text message with a 2 minute reminder alert but You will never know if you missed a call if they dont leave a message. The only way to know is to check the screen when you come back. I liked the Motorola phones that would drive you nuts with a loud beep whenever you missed a call.

I am very happy with my 3200. I downloaded the manual of the new super VX7000 just released and many of the features are the same on my 3200 minus a couple of toys that I do not need. I have everything that is important to me on my 3200 as the 7000 has.

The 650 loos like a very nice phone. I dount you could go wrong with it, I chose the LG because I have heard so many good things about LG phones I just wanted to try one myself and see if I agree with all of the positive reviews they get. So far, I am an LG phone fan but not to say that I wouldnt have been just as happy with the 650.

As far as not having an external screen, that is no big deal. I really dont think it will bother you. The only time that I sort of wish there was an external screen is when I am driving and the phone rings. Other than in the car, opening the phone is no big deal and ringer ID will let you know if you need to be so quick to answer the call anyway. I like having analog capability if I need it. There are still many rural areas of the U.S. that an analog phone is needed.

Hope this helps some. I'm sure you will happy with either phone you choose. :)
