    Actually Nextel pushes there service to the public safety end big time. Saying how much more reliable they are then 2 way radio's, especially during times of disasters

    Yep the local town found out differently when there was an eight hour power outage on the island...HMMM...where did the Nextel's go?

    What no battery back-ups on the sites...oh darn.

    Nextel I think already a has a license across the nation, I know Sprint PCS does. So if Verizon got 10 MHz across the nation they could choose to go into markets they always wanted to like Oklahoma City and others. Problem would be no EV-DO in those markets until they had more spectrum.

    Nextel says they can fix the problem on 800 MHz, if that is true the only reason I see is Nextel can push CDMA in phase out iDEN faster.
