OK, since I can't get a PTT due to no signal in my house, and no matter what phone I have tried, gets no signal. I figure that I will get a 4400 just because it is still a tri-mode (need analog in my area) flip phone.

There is a $50 rebate offered that expires on 8/17, which would make the phone $150 after rebate(1 yr contract, because I refuse to sign anything for 2 yrs). After the PTT is actually out on the streets, will the 4400 come down in price and will the rebate be extended?

    What about a V60 i?

I couldn't care less about all the frills, just want a quality phone with LOUD earpiece volume, and excellent reception.

I'd guess the 4400 probably won't come down with the release of the V60p since they are 2 different types of phones.
But the V60i might, tho the average price for a used one seems to be around $115 or so now so not sure if it'll really drop much more or not.

[edit] forgot to say, if you don't want any frills, the V60i will do the trick. It'll cost you a bit less then a 4400 plus you won't have to sign a contract.

1 year prices are about to be raised soon on average of another $20-30.
