After I heard about *DATA# being in the works I've been trying it out every now and again and I noticed today that it is now recognized as being valid, but the promised "service reply" never comes back to me. With hme83's help I found out that the reply does come back to at least one Orange subscriber can any of the Blue subscribers try and tell if the code works for them?
I am an Orange customer and I had partial success. The service reply came back promptly but it said "The information is not available until your next bill cycle".
Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (SymbianOS/9.1; U; en-us) AppleWebKit/413 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/413 es70) While I did receive a confirmation, I didn't receive any messages after that for my blue account.
Basically same as mine then, I guess you get the confirmation of the code being processed (as opposed to "result unknown") and that's it, right?
Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (SymbianOS/9.1; U; en-us) AppleWebKit/413 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/413 es70) That is correct, I get the same confirmation of the request, but no message is sent afterwards.
I just tried it (orange). the message was there by the time I clicked ok. It does show the MediaNet/Internet as Unlimited (no usage info) as well as the TXT/IM count.
I'm a blue customer with the Charter Plan and BlackBerry (BES) Unlimited ... I received a confirmation but no sms message came back.
It sure looks like they have not made that work for all the blue customers yet. Fire14 still has not been able to get any of the star services to work.
When I just tried it I got a message back but it's back from the first of the year so it's no help to me. Maybe they will get it right sooner rather then later *shrug*.
Did you recently change your plan? As it also gave me the "info. won't be available until after start of your next billing cycle" - but I did change my bundle recently. And so OLAM also shows no data info. currently.
Thanks hme83, I did not change my bundle and my OLAM does reflect my usage. What did change though is that the bonus of unlimited texting for the first month went to the 1000 starting this billing cycle, so maybe that's why? Good point, thanks
I decided to try it and I got a message that said my phone will self destruct in 5 minutes......JK. I got a text that gave me all the info of my usage.
After seeing the thread about this over at HoFo, I suspect it's more a matter of there are just some Orange customers that it's not working quite right for yet. Me - it's not going to this month since OLAM doesn't even show my usage - and my experience has been that it may not only be for just one month that my usage isn't shown either. Thank goodness for Nokia text & data counters!!
Knowing that my account is a PrePaid account, I was expecting am error message. However, my account was debited a nickel for the error text message LOL
sure took Cingular long enough to get it.........T-Mobile has had minutes balance and messaging for while...........
Tried with my D807 and it worked fine. I have an ERP account so I'm not sure about migrated/converted accounts. Been waiting a long time for this to work, get alot of customer complaints wanting to be able to do this..
Finally!!!, First day of my billing cycle today and it says: Data Remaining as of 03/02 Media Net/Internet - Unlimited Integrated Messaging - 979 One slight problem is that date is a day off, but I guess I can't have everything
Woo Hoo!!! (sort of ) Mine says Data Remaining as of 03/02 MediaNet/Internet: (blank - hmmm.....could be very good or very bad ) Overage: (blank - sounds good!) Integrated Msgs: 965 One way or the other - it's progress in the right direction on mine. But I guess I better go check out my OLAM and make sure it looks "normal" as mine should say "unlimited" data. As to the day off - I wonder if this means they will only update it once per day/overnight?
dmapr. What do you mean by "doesn't seem to be free"? Does it come out of the messaging pool or is it a 99 cent charge like the voting ones? Thanks Much
It means it shows up on OLAM vs. the other star services. My girlfriend doesn't have a plan, so I can't answer your question about the messaging pool. The bill should be ready in a few days and then I'll be able to tell for sure whether it's just another OLAM weirdness or whether the message is being billed. Wouldn't it be something if Cingular could charge incoming at premium rates?
The information not available untill next billing cycle is due to some change you've made in your txting plan. System doesnt do too tell figuring up prorated amounts on txting msging. You could call customer service and they can tell you an exact amount. But after next billing it'll work.
