The Nokia website appears to list a data tranfer cable for the 2128i to a USB port, but somehow I don't trust it.

Is it possible to tranfer phone numbers and calander info between the 2128 and my PC?

Is there inexpensive hardware and software available for this purpose?

Can anyone point me to it?

    Thanks,

    Len

Why would you not trust the Nokia website? Have you had a bad experience before? I have always bought the data cable that Nokia recommended and also downloaded the Nokia PC Suite from their website and used it to backup and tranfer data without any problems..:)

Well, here's what has me confused: When I go to the data cable page for the 2128 http://www.nokiausa.com/nokia_accessories/2128i/1,7810,70,00.html
and follow the links to download software, the drop down menus don't show the 2128 among the listed model numbers.

So, if there is no software available from Nokia, why is there a data cable?

You may want to email Nokia and ask them

I found the source of my confusion. I hadn't noticed that when I was checking model numbers I was sometimes being sent to the Eurpoean Nokia site rather than the Norh American site... Different model listings.
The North American site for PC Suite DOES include the 2128i.

Good find thanks. What is interesting is that this site is a Nokia USA site but it does not have the 2128i (or the 6682) listed, but if I go to the product page for the 2128i (or the 6682) and then follow the links I come to this site and then both phones are listed. I think that's an error in their website.

Thanks for letting us know, where you able to transfer phone nos. and calendars successfully?

Sheesh! Nokia wants 50 bucks for the cable...
Is there any competitive source for genuine Nokia cables?

It is listed at 19.95 from TangShop. I got my DKU-2 cable from there and didn't have any problems.

    Hope this helps.

That's an aftermarket cable.. In view of posted comments regarding problems with aftermarke CA-42s I found a supposedly genuine nokia online somewhere for under $40 and went for it. I'll report back when I get it.

    Thanks for your help.
