2008 Tax Rebate Check

i wish. im told they go out alphabetically so that is gonna mean longer for me. i know what im gonna waste it on though, or rather "spur the economy"

Grr... I'll be one of the last to get a check. I still haven't decided what I'm going to spend it on --if-- i decide to spend it. Maybe a quick trip to the beach?

 

It's unfortunate not everyone will be getting the rebate.

There is an income minimum that must be met in order to qualify. IIRC, I think it's $36,000 a year or $3000 a month (which comes out the same for both) per tax payer. I may have this wrong as I found much of the information on this to be confusing and misleading. Government double-speak at work again...

No, you must have a minimum of $3000 total of qualifying income to get the rebate... I know some folks who earned less than $36k and got their rebate. Most of the rebate information is available on the IRS.gov site. There are links there regarding the rebate there. I was confused with the initial letter... They could have worded the thing better...

Boy am I glad I was wrong. I just remember reading about the "3000" thing, not really realizing what it said, but in my own defense, the way it was written in the literature, the IRS didn't make it very clear. Oh well, my bad...:O...30 lashes with a wet noodle and a time-out in the corner.

 

w00t w00t.... The money is in the bank. Now it's time to decide what to do with the income lol

I still am not sure if I'm getting it, so I'll wait and see if an extra direct-deposit occurs soon. Fingers crossed...

 

Let's just say... Yeah for May 16th!!! It would have already been DD'd, but due to a mess-up from my previous Employer, I ended up owing on Federal Taxes.

I got letter from the dept of the treasury my mony is comming soon. its only 300 bucks tho.

 

I don't know when (or if) I'm getting my rebate check, but I just heard from my accountant that after she worked it out I owe about $6,000 in taxes. So after they send me $600 I've paid for 9 other people to get their checks. Enjoy them with my complements...

OK Jay, where is the rest of my check. j/k I only got $418, but I am very glad I got it.

 

I have no idea whether I'm getting one either. I haven't gotten any notification, and since I did direct deposit for my income tax, if I get anything, it should be by Friday. No sign yet...

 

New struts and shocks for my car. Woo-hoo! No more bottoming out on blown stock struts.

 

I got a 2nd letter confirming that the Wife & I are getting it, but my question is why does the Government waste so much postage & paper to alert us of this news??? Wouldn't they be better off just sending the check instead??? To make matters even worse, the back of the envelope this most recent letter came in said Stimulus Payment!!!

 

Still haven't heard whether I'm going to get it or not... I'll just plan on not seeing it.

yeah that's what the back of mine said. and I got all excited.
