    2.)
Somewere in the menus you should be able to check your software version. Call your local VZW store and ask for the tech departmnt. Ask the what the latest version of the software is the most current available. If its newer than yours you can go in and update(I think).

The Verizon Banner is the little display on your screen that says "Verizon Wireless" right below the 1x symbol, the signal strength indicators, etc.

I understand. However, I got my phone 2 days ago and all it just shows is, the pic of hot air balloons and below that is the date/time.

No word of 'Verizon Wireless". Should there be?

You probably using the PRL that is not ERI capable. (50067). Press menu, 9, 2.
Use *228, and press 2 to load the latest PRL/ERI on the phone.

I tried to update the lastest software, I did *228 option 2 but, I see no change in my software. I have two vx4400, I uploaded one and not the other. Still the same. 50067. I also have no Verizon banner on my phone. Even after I uploaded my phone rebooted. So I know that something happen. It could just be the software that is used in Hawaii, we seem to be a little diffient then other states.

I haven't seen the VZW banner as well. I was one of the first to buy the phone. I got it the first day it was available in Washington (Jan 21st I think). Is there a reason why I need to upgrade the SW? What will this accomplish? It seems to work ok and I don't want to try to fix something that isn't broken. That just leads to more trouble. Check menu-9-2.
