I just thought of something. If I could get credit for all of my pre October 2001 posts I would be well over 5000 by now. I've been posting here since late 1999 and the post didn't start to count until the new format was introduced in Oct. 2001.

 

According to WA I joined this forum on Friday December 21, 2001. Ohh my 2 year anniversary is coming up soon.

What are you getting me, Larry?

 

Man, I remember when I was about to get 100 posts, it seems to fly by. Congratulations on reaching the century mark!

the thing i miss about posting is the "ranking" changes I remember I jumped in ecstacy when I went from Tenderfoot to Junior member and once I hit Senior member, the excitement just kinda went away which leads me to bring back that age old subject of MORE RANKINGS!!!!!!!!!!!

How about having another level for users who have 500 posts or more?
Like "Veteran Member" for 500 posts
"Pro Member" for 700 and more posts
and "Elite Member" for 1000+
It may also increase the popularity of the website due to these factors:
*People who hang around the longest are more likely to recommend the site to other people.
*Older members have been around the site and forums and keep up with information on a regular basis, minimizing the trash threads and innacurate information.
*members seem to leave after they achieve the Senior Member status and have nothing else to look forward to except Mod status and thats achievable at a certain point, hence you dont find people who have been around longer than a year in most cases.
*It makes it more fun and challenging?

I don't want to be a full-fledged member. I don't know why, just don't like the sound of it. How's that for my 500th post? Insightful? No. Relevant? Slightly. Off topic? No, not in this thread. Having to do with the wireless industy? Certainly not and for my 500th post I don't think I'd want it any other way. Good times, 500 posts in 43 days!

Actually I'm a CSR and I'm at work 8 hours a day. When we're slow, like right now for example when it's been 36 minutes since my last call I come to these boards and post or surf the internet for more wireless knowledge because that's all I can do. They have software that can bring up screen shots on my computer and if I'm at a website that is not wireless related I would get in trouble. So, because W.A. is wireless related and this forum is fun I'm here a lot. Hence the 503 posts in 44 days. I don't have a computer at home, just a type writer... well, that and an XBox.

 

Fair enough...lucky you have time to surf during your job! I'm jealous!

 

Sometimes. A lot of times I'm getting back to back calls but right now it is nice to be able to surf. I just wish I could look up hockey and other things I have interest in. Being able to only look at wireless-related websites has benefitted me by making me learn more about the wireless industry as a whole instead of just the company I happen to work for.

Ha-ha. My typewriter does just fine. If I had a computer at home I would only use it to do the stuff I do at work in between calls and on breaks. (Check my e-mail, set up my fantasy hockey team, post on the W.A. Forums, etc.) And if I had a computer at home to do all that stuff what would I do at work in between calls and on breaks, other than smoke more? The only way I'm ever going to purchase a computer is when I have enough money to get an Apple Power Mac, iBook and iPod so I can transfer my thousands of CDs to the hard drive and store my disks to save on wear and tear... and use it for graphic design. Other than that there is no point in me getting a computer because I can use the ones at work. Sometimes, I even write letters by hand and send them to my friends.

 

All I have is a crappy Dell Inspiron 5100 . I want like an Apple PowerBook G4 or the new PowerMac G5 (newer than your pic up there) but Apples cost so much!

well i hit my 1000th last week, and i'm almost to 1100th this week, but i'm more concern about learning than post count.

 

you should see the Blue versions, they look nice in person.

 

Ack, I just don't like smurf phones. Remember the old blue v60c's that Verizon sold for a while? Bleh.
