There are two new handsets coming out on or around April 12th (1) A new camera flip phone from Samsung the u340 Snap which is similar to T-Mobile's t619. It will be $9.99 with a $10 mail-in rebate on a 24-month agreement and $79.99 on a 12-month contract. (2) And The Samsung r510 Wafer which has EV-DO, Celltop and a mini-SD slot. It is like Samsung's Trace on T-Mobile. It will be $69.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and $179.99 on a 12-month contract. It is thinner than the RAZR and the LG AX8600.
Damn! Hope it's true. That would tip my decision towards AllTel even more. You got links for your info?
Yeah I saw these on cnet when they review the CTIA stuff... or something like that. The u340 is already being carried by Verizon Wireless. The r510 is basically the Trace aka (SLVR Clone) I wonder if this means Alltel wont be getting the Moto SLVR. I saw that Verizon had it listed on their website.. so either they will get the SLVR and Alltel will get the r510 or Verizon will go ahead and get the r510 as well later and have the SLVR to. That would kinda figure seeing as there is nothing about Alltel getting the Moto RAZR Maxx and Verizon is getting that exclusive for 6mons starting April 24. Wonder what else Alltel has on the path for us over the next few mons.. hopefully some good phones. I bet they phase out one of the older Samsung phones as soon as these two come out.
Wirelessly posted (Ironwalt's v3c: MOT-GATW_/00.62 UP.Browser/6.2.3.4.c.1.112 (GUI) MMP/2.0) It looks like the phones are going to be delayed until May 3rd. As soon as i learn more i will post it.
If that is true that would not shock me in the least little bit. If there is one thing Alltel is known for actually getting right and that you can count your stake on its that they can, do, and usually will find a reason to delay releasing a phone. More times out of non they choose to delay them right before the actual release date. Sometimes it is software issues, other times they are doing it as a ploy to get more money or something... either way all I can say is BOOOOOO! why dont you break out of the mold this time and actually release these things when your stores were first told and have been telling ppl they would be released... pretty soon no one is going to believe a word AT says when they tell ppl they are releasing a new phone.
