Does anyone know if Cingular has removed 1900 mhz access in this area? It used to work up until 4 months ago.

I don't see any carrier removing any frequencies they have. It could be they are using 850 in that area now as the main frequencie for voice calls and if you have a 1900 only phone, you would loose coverage because of this.

If you have a 1900 Mhz only phone, your best bet is to get a phone with both 850/1900.

And according to this article: http://forums.wirelessadvisor.com/c...l-sites-lexington.html?highlight=Lexington+KY

they have integrated your area around April, which is about the time your service has degraded, so it sounds like they are using 850 over 1900

Yeah i have noticed that and read thru that post as well. The odd thing is it still works in some are of Lexington, ie on I-75 and around the airport. I have to resort to using an old beat up dual band phone for the time being, so that I can make calls.

I've tried asking Cingular but can never get a straight answer from them.
