My 1988 Honda Prelude 2.0S just crossed the threshold of 160,000 miles and still going strong. I'm sure I'm going to have to replace something expensive soon.
Good work!!! My 1981 Buick Regal Limited just hit 170,000 this week! I was driving it today and the A/C is still ice cold... Gotta love R-12! I just picked her up from getting a new set of tires, brakes, & shocks. Baby's got a new set of shoes! -Jay
Gotta love the old school Freon. I wish they wold make an exception when it comes to public transportation and other mass transit using R-12. The new stuff is god awful, it doesn't cool off. Out hear it is a joke in the summertime, the busses feel like their air is broken.
You got me beat Moto in both absolute miles and miles/year. My 2001 Acura CLS just turned 95,000 and is also still going strong. I do know though I have get the belts replaced within the next couple of months, between 95K-105K I believe.
Dad just put some R-22 replacement in his home A/C and it is actually colder than the "real" 22 ever was. -Jay
If you're going for miles per year its hard to beat my Dad. He usually does about 80,000/yr but I think there was one year he did 110k. Consequently his company buys him a new car every year. He just got a new one 2 months ago - a Chrysler Town & Country minivan. I think he should have gotten a cooler car though. One of the guys that works with him chose a Chrysler 300. -Jay
Lovin the old school Freon in my 94 BMW. But over the past few years, both the condensor and compressor have broken on me, leaving me with a lot of freon and no cold air!
It's a little expensive, but I've gotten them both fixed. There is nothing worse than sitting on the Cross-Bronx Expressway in traffic not moving on a 100 degree day with no A/C
You know it. You didn't hear in the news about the week before this past week? temperatures were high 90's, 100 for a few days. Because of that, parts of Queens didnt have power for 10 days!
I remember 100 degree days at my grandmother's house in connecticut when I was a kid. (in the 70's & 80's) -Jay
I remember when I was little in the late 80's and early 90's it was 100 or higher for a couple years in a row for close to a months time (July 1 to July 31were usually the hottest) in central Illinois, while other times, the warmest days were from the middle to end of July to the middle of August. During those times, the heat index each day was about 110 to 115.
Now I don't feel bad that my '01 Nissan Sentra that I bought new on '00 is "only" @ 98,500!!! We be driving around alot in the AZ too!!!:lmao:
And I feel so bad for you! :lmao: Temperatures here are usually in the mid-nineties to 105 from mid-June to mid-September.
